Wrist device for a prosthetic limb
A wrist device for a prosthetic limb is provided. The device (1) comprises a base member (3) connectable to the wearer of the device, and a support member (13) connectable to the limb. The support member (13) is pivotably connected to the base member (3) such that the support member can pivot about a pivot axis (A) relative to the base member. A damping mechanism is located between the base (3) member and the support member (5). The damping mechanism comprises a pinion (47) connected to the support member (5) and rotatable about the pivot axis (A) relative to the base member (3). A rack (35) is engaged with the pinion (47) such that rotational motion of the pinion causes a linear motion of the rack, and at least one biasing member (41) extends between the base member (3) and the rack. The biasing member (41) biases the rack (35) and support member (13) into a neutral position. A prosthetic limb incorporating the wrist device is also provided.
VALVE AND PROSTHETIC KNEE JOINT HAVING SUCH A VALVE
A valve an inlet, an outlet that is connected to the inlet via a fluid connection, and a valve body which can be brought by displacing it along a displacement direction into a first position, in which the fluid connection is blocked, and a second position, in which the fluid connection is open, wherein the inlet is designed and arranged in such a way that a fluid entering through the inlet exerts a total force on the valve body that at least also acts in a force direction which is perpendicular to the displacement direction when the valve body is in the first position.
Prosthetic ankle joint
A prosthetic ankle joint for a prosthetic foot attached to a base assembly. A linkage assembly provided between the base assembly and a torque bracket including an adapter unit disposed at top of the torque bracket to provide a connection to a lower tube-shaped clamp fitted over a pilon. The pilon extends upward to a second tube-shaped clamp connected to a lower portion of a socket receiving a residual limb of an amputee.
SPRINGS WITH STRAIN FEEDBACK
Springs can provide energy return and have a conductivity that changes in relation to an amount of strain or deformation of the spring. In some embodiments, the springs are made by multi-material 3D printing (additive manufacturing). Such springs made by multi-material 3D printing may include a first material that is electrically non-conductive and a second material that electrically conductive. The extent of deformation or strain of the spring may be determined or estimated by measuring the conductivity or resistivity of the electrically conductive material portion of the spring.
Prosthetic hand
Prosthetic hand (1) with a wrist (13) and provided with a hand palm (2) and fingers (4) attached to the hand palm (2), wherein the hand palm (2) and fingers (4) comprise bars (5) and joints (6) connecting the bars (5) forming a construction (7) supported by the wrist (13), wherein said bars (5) occupy a position with reference to each other de-pending on an external load applied to the construction (7), wherein a reaction force for said load applied to the construction (7) is provided by or through the wrist (13), and wherein the construction (7) has an unloaded position wherein the fingers (4) are stretched and a plurality of loaded positions corresponding to loads applied to an inner side of the hand (1) wherein the construction (7) is deflected from the unloaded position wherein the fingers (4) are stretched into a series of loaded positions in which the fingers (4) are flexed into increasingly bonded positions so as to eventually close the hand (1), and that said construction (7) is provided with a locking mechanism (9) to lock the construction (7) in one of the plurality of loaded positions.
Shock-absorbing twisting structure
A shock-absorbing twisting structure includes a first seat and a second seat. The first seat includes an elastic member. A stop member is arranged at one side of the first seat. The second seat is formed with a receiving chamber that is fit over the first seat, such that the elastic member is set in elastic engagement with and is supported between the first seat and the second seat. A main axle penetrates through the second seat and is received in the first seat to set the second seat in a rotatable condition. An elastic unit is arranged at each of two sides of the receiving chamber and the stop member.
Lower limb prosthesis
Powered limb prostheses with multi-stage transmissions are provided.
Hydrotherapy Systems And Methods Of Use Of Said Systems
A system for providing hydrotherapy includes an attachment coupling structure that is configured to be secured to a bottom end portion of a socket that is configured to receive a residual limb of a subject. A fluid resistance attachment is coupled to the attachment coupling structure. The attachment coupling structure is configured to retain the fluid resistance attachment in a plurality of positions relative to the socket. The plurality of positions are rotationally offset relative to each other about an axis.
KNEE JOINT
A knee joint that is capable of widening a moveable range, and that has good energy efficiency and is small and lightweight is described. Also described is a knee joint that is of an active type, but comparatively inexpensive. A drive section moves a driven member. An elastic member is arranged between the driven member and a linear motion member. The linear motion member elastically moves in at least one direction, in accordance with movement of the driven member, by way of the elastic member. A crank mechanism can realize bending and extension of the knee joint by converting linear motion of the linear motion member to rotational motion.
ARTIFICIAL HAND WITH EXTENDABLE DIGITS
An artificial hand suitable for use in humans and robots, includes at least one finger member and at least one thumb member, which is actuated by bending the at least one joint by the motor unit; said finger member comprising one proximal and one middle phalanx consisting of two subparts each, said thumb member comprising one proximal and one middle phalanx consisting of two subparts each, and said two-piece proximal and middle phalanges comprise at least one connection means in grooves extending longitudinally therein, increasing lengths of said proximal and middle phalanges by enabling the two pieces to be set apart from each other.
