Method for making semiconductor device with lead frame made from top and bottom components and related devices
A method for making a semiconductor device may include bonding a top lead frame component, having recesses, with a bottom lead frame component to form a lead frame, the top and bottom lead frame components each including metal. The method may include mounting an IC on the lead frame, encapsulating the IC and the lead frame, and removing portions of the bottom lead frame component to define contacts for the IC.
POWER MODULE ASSEMBLY WITH REDUCED INDUCTANCE
A power module assembly has a plurality of electrically conducting layers, including a first layer and a third layer. One or more electrically insulating layers are operatively connected to each of the plurality of electrically conducting layers. The electrically insulating layers include a second layer positioned between and configured to electrically isolate the first and the third layers. The first layer is configured to carry a first current flowing in a first direction. The third layer is configured to carry a second current flowing in a second direction opposite to the first direction, thereby reducing an inductance of the assembly. The electrically insulating layers may include a fourth layer positioned between and configured to electrically isolate the third layer and a fifth layer. The assembly results in a combined substrate and heat sink structure. The assembly eliminates the requirements for connections between separate substrate and heat sink structures.

Articles including bonded metal structures and methods of preparing the same
Articles including bonded metal structures and methods of preparing the same are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method of preparing an article that includes bonded metal structures includes providing a first substrate. A first metal structure and a second metal structure are formed on the first substrate. The first metal structure and the second metal structure each include an exposed contact surface. A bond mask is formed over the contact surface of the first metal structure. A second substrate is bonded to the first substrate through the exposed contact surface of the second metal structure. The bond mask remains disposed over the exposed contact surface of the second metal structure during bonding of the second substrate to the first substrate. A wire is bonded to the exposed contact surface of the first metal structure.
Microfluidic delivery member with filter and method of forming same
Embodiments are directed to microfluidic refill cartridges and methods of assembling same. The microfluidic refill cartridges include a microfluidic delivery member that includes a filter for filtering fluid passed therethrough. The filter may be configured to block particles above a threshold size to prevent blockage in the nozzles. For instance, particles having a dimension that is larger than the diameter of the nozzles can block or reduce fluid flow through the nozzle.
