FOOT COVER FOR PROSTHETIC FOOT

A foot cover for a prosthetic foot can allow a user to more easily remove the foot cover when the foot cover needs to be switched out or cleaned. The foot cover can have a hinge near a heel end of the foot cover. The hinge can allow a user to rotate a section of the foot cover to increase the size of the opening so that the foot prosthetic can be inserted into or removed from an inner cavity of the foot cover. The foot cover can be an easily separable two-part foot cover, the two parts coupled together with magnets or another mechanical fastener.

Prosthetic foot

A prosthetic foot comprising an internal keel (1) and an encapsulation material (2). The keel (1) is made of two parts (3,4), namely an elastic ankle (3) and an elastic blade (4), to ensure a behaviour of the prosthesis as close as possible to the biomechanics of a sound human foot (plantar flexion, dorsiflexion, inversion, eversion). The materials and design used for the keel (1) allow storing and releasing strain energy at the right phases of the gait cycle. Elastomeric foams act as safety features in specific areas to prevent keel overloading. The keel (1) is preferably encapsulated into two types of foam to fill internal space and as cosmetic feature as it has a human foot shape.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE PROSTHESIS PYRAMID CONNECTOR

A prosthetic device and related methods having height adjustment features. A prosthetic foot includes an elongate support member comprising fiber reinforced material and having a support surface configured to rest upon a ground surface prior to use, an adapter mounted to the support member and configured to secure the prosthetic foot to another prosthetic device, and a height adjustable feature configured to adjust a height of the adapter relative to the support surface.

HAPTIC PERCEPTION SYSTEM WITH STEREOGNOSTIC AND PROPRIOCEPTIVE SENSES INDUCTION FOR AN ARTIFICIAL LIMB OR A SENSORY DISRUPTED LIMB

A haptic perception system for a hand prosthesis. The haptic perception system includes a stereognosis unit, a proprioception unit, and one or more processors. The stereognosis unit includes a plurality of pressure sensors attached onto an external surface of the hand prosthesis, a plurality of passive magnetic tags embedded in a hypoderm tissue of a residual limb of the amputee, and a plurality of electromagnetic coils attached onto a skin of the residual limb of the amputee. When a first electromagnetic coil is activated, a first passive magnetic tag moves toward the first electromagnetic coil and, to thereby, stimulates pressure sensory receptors present in the hypoderm tissue of the residual limb.

An assistance device is described to assist a joint motion of a lower limb. The assistance device includes a driving part, an elastic part, and a crank mechanism. The driving part includes a motor and a transmission mechanism to change a speed of the motor and converts a rotational motion of the motor into a linear motion. The elastic part includes at least: a series spring provided in series between the transmission mechanism and the crank mechanism, a first parallel spring provided between the driving part and the ankle part, and a second parallel spring provided between the ankle part and the foot part. The crank mechanism is provided between the driving part and the foot part and converts the linear motion to a rotational motion while changing a deceleration coefficient according to an ankle angle.

Lower limb prosthesis

Powered limb prostheses with multi-stage transmissions are provided.

Prosthetic feet having heel height adjustability

Prosthetic feet that allow for heel height adjustment and/or provide metatarsal joint functionality to more closely mimic natural human feet are provided. A prosthetic foot can include an ankle module having a locking mechanism configured to lock the heel at a particular height. The prosthetic foot can also include a toe region that adapts to varying heel heights. The ankle module and/or locking mechanism can be adjusted, controlled, and/or locked via a hydraulic mechanism. The toe region can curve upward relative to a portion of the foot proximal of the toe region.
