ORTHOSIS FOR DISTRACTING A HUMAN DIGIT
20230116922 · 2023-04-20 ·

An orthosis (1) for distracting a human digit that includes a support (6) for removably fitting to a hand or foot and a mounting element (16) for attaching to the distal end of the digit. The orthosis (1) includes an adjustable member (10, 12, 14) extending between the support (6) and the mounting element (16), the adjustable member (10, 12, 14) being physically separate to the mounting element (16). The adjustable member (10, 12, 14) releasably engages with the mounting element (16) and is mounted to the support (6). The adjustable member (10, 12, 14) is movable with the support (6) and the mounting element (16) so to increase the distance between the support (6) and the mounting element (16), which causes the adjustable member (10, 12, 14) to exert a biasing force between the support (6) and the mounting element (16) so to distract the digit.

THUMB ORTHOSIS

A flexible knee brace has integrated accelerometers. The knee brace is a sleeve having panels that provide support to the knee. Accelerometers may be affixed with one or a pair of the braces at different locations on the braces to obtain and evaluate data regarding movement of the knee.

SOFT ACTIVE HAND ORTHOSIS

The invention relates to a hand orthosis (1) for assisting the movements of a user's hand. The hand orthosis comprises a soft glove (2) adapted to receive at least a part of the user's hand with finger sections of the glove receiving each of the user's fingers. It further comprises at least one actuator box (3), and a power transmission (4) for transferring forces from the at least one actuator box to different parts of the glove via exo-tendons (5). The exo-tendons are arranged on a dorsal side, on a palmar side, or on both a dorsal side and a palmar side of the glove. The exo-tendons are arranged so that the glove can assist flexion, extension, or both extension and flexion of the fingers, respectively and so that the exo-tendons act on the fingers to produce motion that mimics the movement of a human hand. The hand orthosis provides different grasp types, self- adaptation of the fingers' motion to the shape of the object, and physiologically appropriate distribution of finger forces.

Universal wrist brace with enhanced lacing
11660221 · 2023-05-30 · ·

The present wrist brace includes an adjustable panel and an advantageous lacing configuration that provides a cast-like compression on a patient's forearm, wrist, and hand. Pulling the lacing mechanism equilibrates lace tension along the length of the wrist brace in a way that applies consistent compression to the patient's forearm and wrist.

Orthotic device for use with user-operated tool

An orthotic device is coupleable to a fastener installation tool and is configured to be worn on an appendage of a user of the fastener installation tool. The orthotic device is configurable between a relaxed state and a rigid state, and includes at least one activation component responsive to an activation signal output by a controller in communication with the fastener installation tool. The at least one activation component changes the orthotic device from the relaxed state to the rigid state in response to operation of the fastener installation tool.

A therapeutic device includes a generally rigid but elastically deformable sheet body including a bridge portion, first and second support portions extending outwardly from the bridge portion in opposite directions along a longitudinal dimension, and adhesive or an adhesion member on a first surface along the bridge portion that is adapted for adhesion to skin of a user above a target site. The therapeutic device also includes first and second projections on the first surface proximate to lateral edges of the sheet body. The sheet body is configured to assume a neutral configuration in which the first and second projections space the bridge portion and the adhesive or the adhesion member apart from the target site by an air gap, a depressed position during affixation of the first surface to the target site, and an adhesion configuration after affixation of the first surface to the target site.

The present disclosure provides a wearable garment comprising (a) a sheath having a first end and a second, wherein the sheath defines a cavity in a wearable position, wherein the sheath has a first opening at the first end, and wherein the sheath comprises a first material, and (b) one or more relief zones coupled to the sheath, wherein the relief zones comprise a second material, wherein a pressure distribution of the second material is greater than a pressure distribution of the first material.

Fixed-sensor finger action detecting glove

A fixed-sensor finger action detecting glove has a glove body, five covering sheets, five fixing bases, five sensors, and five fixing assemblies. A side of the glove body forms a hand back section and five finger back sections. The covering sheet is mounted on the finger back section and forms a passage. The fixing base is made from a flexible material, is mounted through the passage, and has two limiting walls. The sensor is located in the passage between the two limiting walls, preventing the sensor from deviating. The fixing assembly is mounted between an end of the sensor and an end of the finger back section, detachably connects the sensor and the finger back section, and prevents the sensor from moving back and forth. Thus, the fixed-sensor finger action detecting glove is capable of detecting actions of the fingers precisely.
