ARM SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Systems and methods are provided for supporting an arm of a user using a harness configured to be worn on a body of a user; and an arm support coupled to the harness configured to support an arm of the user, the arm support configured to accommodate movement of the arm while following the movement without substantially interfering with the movement of the user's arm. One or more compensation elements may be coupled to the arm support to apply an offset force to at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm, the one or more compensation elements providing a force profile that varies the offset force based on an orientation of the arm support.
Orthopedic device for dynamically treating the knee
An orthopedic device includes a hinge assembly, a frame having first and second frame components spaced apart from and connected to one another by the hinge assembly, a strap system extending between medial and lateral sides of the first frame component, and at least one tensioning element. The at least one tensioning element has a first end secured to the strap system and a second end coupled to the hinge assembly. Articulation of the hinge assembly pulls the strap system toward the frontal plane by the at least one tensioning element.
KNEE BRACE
The invention relates to a knee orthosis with a proximal frame and a distal frame which are connected via a lateral joint and/or a medial join joint such that they can be swiveled, wherein the knee orthosis comprises a proximal pressure element that is arranged exclusively laterally or exclusively medially on the proximal frame by means of a proximal support arm, and a distal pressure element that is arranged exclusively laterally or exclusively medially on the distal frame by means of a distal support arm.
Adaptive arm support systems and methods for use
A system is provided for supporting an arm of a user that includes a harness configured to be worn by the user, and an arm support coupled to the harness and including an arm rest to support an arm of the user. The arm support is configured to accommodate and follow movement of the arm without substantially interfering in such movement. The arm support may at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. For example, the arm support may transfer at least a portion of the weight of the user's arm to the torso or other region of the user's body and/or may apply an opposing force to at least partially offset the gravitational force acting on the arm.
Vibratory unloading knee brace for knee osteoarthritis
A knee device and method of stimulating muscles is disclosed. The knee device includes a knee brace with a support frame and vibration components. The vibration components are connected to the support frame by adjustable arms that allow for precise adjustments in the spatial position and orientation of the vibration components. The vibration components can be activated by the ambulation of a user.
ADJUSTABLE KNEE BRACE
A knee brace with an articulation assembly connectable with a first cuff movable with respect to the articulation assembly about a first location defining a first pivot axis between the first cuff and articulation assembly, and movable about a second location defining a first rotation axis between the first cuff and articulation assembly. The knee brace may have a second cuff connectable with the articulation assembly and movable with respect to the articulation assembly about a third location defining a second pivot axis between the second cuff and articulation assembly. The second cuff is movable about a fourth location defining a second rotation axis between the second cuff and articulation assembly. The first pivot axis and first rotation axis may intersect each other or be offset from intersecting each other, the second pivot axis and second rotation axis may intersect each other or be offset from intersecting.
Knee brace devices, systems and methods
A knee brace comprising a frame assembly comprising an outer frame portion and an inner frame portion. The outer frame portion has a first outer transverse member, a second outer transverse member, and an outer side member configured to extend along a length of a first side of a user's leg when worn by the user, the outer side member extending between the first outer transverse member and the second outer transverse member. The inner frame portion has a first inner transverse member, a second inner transverse member, and an inner side member opposite the outer side member and is configured to extend along a length of a second side of a user's leg when worn by the user, the second side member extending between the first inner transverse member and the second inner transverse member. The outer frame portion and inner frame portion define a top portion of the frame assembly and a bottom portion of the frame assembly, the top and bottom portions configured to be pivotable relative to each other. The frame assembly additionally comprises a flex member connecting the inner frame portion and the outer frame portion in at least one of the top and bottom portions of the frame assembly. In embodiments, a securement system may be included to form a knee brace assembly or system.
CUSTOMIZABLE KNEE BRACE INTENDED FOR PATIENTS WITH OSTEOARTHRITIS
A customizable knee brace for use in the treatment of osteoarthritis is provided. The customizable knee brace includes a lateral upright. The lateral upright includes at least a first semi-rigid support, a second semi-rigid support, and a hinge physically coupling the first semi-rigid support and the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a thigh cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the first semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a shin cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes an elastomeric web framework coupled to the lateral upright and configured to secure an area of a knee of a patient when wearing the customizable knee brace. The customizable knee brace further includes at least one tensioning element configured to adjust a tension of the elastomeric web framework.
Joint device
A joint device of an orthosis or prosthesis or for an orthosis or prosthesis with an upper part, a lower part, a joint that comprises a joint axis, about which the upper part is mounted such that it can be swivelled relative to the lower part, and an actuator, which is designed to influence a swivelling of the upper part relative to the lower part. The actuator is mounted at an upper part fixing point on the upper part and at a lower part fixing point on the lower part. At least two joints are arranged between the upper part fixing point and the lower part fixing point, wherein the joints enable a swivelling of the actuator relative to the upper part fixing point and the lower part fixing point, and the joints each form at least one joint axis, at least one of which is not oriented parallel to the joint axis.
Tiltable articulated joint brace
The disclosure relates to a tiltable joint brace for a joint orthesis, comprising: two articulated limbs pivotably mounted on each other in a bearing arrangement, wherein the head of the first articulated limb supports a bearing arrangement which can be connected to the head of the second articulated limb by non-positive and positive fit in order to form the pivot joint. A curved sliding surface is formed on the bearing arrangement, and the head rests on the curved sliding surface with positive fit. There, the second articulated limb can tilt freely toward the pivot axis of the joint brace against the first articulated limb.
