SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING AND MANAGING SORES, ULCERS, AND WOUNDS
A system and method is provided for managing sores, ulcers, and wounds. An orthopedic boot comprises, a sole; a support member connected to and upwardly extending from the sole, the support member being adapted to secure the boot to a foot of a subject; and a plurality of support columns removably coupled to and upwardly extending from the sole.
Long-term therapeutic pressure applicator and real-time monitoring system
A therapeutic pressure applicator with a sensor and transceiver is worn by a patient during daily activity to apply pressure to a specific body part, and used in a system with a device such as a cell phone to receive and display real-time pressure data to alert the patient and physician when the pressure is outside a desired range. The applicator includes a securement member and a pressure adjusting device with a pressure adjusting dial, pressure sensing component, pressure focusing plate and cushion. Rotating the dial retracts or extends the sensing component, focusing plate and cushion. The applicator has a computer module with a CPU, memory, transceiver, power source and a force sensor. A pressure button is pressed into engagement with the sensor to transmit real-time focused pressure data to the CPU. The transceiver communicates the real-time cushion pressure data to the cell phone that displays and stores the data.
CUSTOMIZABLE KNEE BRACE INTENDED FOR PATIENTS WITH OSTEOARTHRITIS
A customizable knee brace for use in the treatment of osteoarthritis is provided. The customizable knee brace includes a lateral upright. The lateral upright includes at least a first semi-rigid support, a second semi-rigid support, and a hinge physically coupling the first semi-rigid support and the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a thigh cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the first semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a shin cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes an elastomeric web framework coupled to the lateral upright and configured to secure an area of a knee of a patient when wearing the customizable knee brace. The customizable knee brace further includes at least one tensioning element configured to adjust a tension of the elastomeric web framework.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device, first and second struts, and a range-of-motion limiting pivot assembly connecting to the first and second struts. The pivoting assembly having an engagement member linked to a tab disposed and arranged for pulling radially outward away from a central axis of the pivoting assembly for adjusting the range of motion of the pivoting assembly.
Knee orthosis, adjustable
A knee brace includes a first portion for securement to the thigh region, a second portion for securement to the calf region, and pivotal coupling of the upper region to the lower region. A special pad is used for contacting each region of the leg, which pad is received in a shell that includes a plurality of ventilation openings, and which pad includes a plurality of thru-openings interconnected with the ventilation openings in the shell, and grooves that interconnect the plurality of openings in the pad. The openings and grooves in the pad serve to better grip the wearer's leg and reduce the tensioning needed by the straps to maintain the brace in position. The upper cuff and/or lower cuff may be adjustably secured to the arms of the hinge using T-shaped mounting studs that mate with a corresponding cruciform-shaped opening in the hinge arms.
Hinged ankle brace
An ankle brace includes a semi-rigid ankle cuff and a semi-rigid foot bed coupled to the semi-rigid ankle cuff. The semi-rigid ankle cuff includes a calf-supporting portion configured to extend around a lower calf of a wearer, and medial and lateral uprights extending generally downward from respective medial and lateral sides of the calf-supporting portion. The semi-rigid foot bed includes a foot plate including a posterior medial edge, a posterior lateral edge and is contoured to underlie at least a portion of a foot of the wearer. The semi-rigid foot bed includes medial and lateral wings extending generally upward from respective posterior medial and lateral edges of the foot plate, medial and lateral bend regions respectively joining the medial and lateral wings to the foot plate. Each of the medial bend region and the lateral bend region are more flexible than the foot plate.
Conformable Orthosis
A conformable and reconfigurable orthosis is provided. The conformable and reconfigurable orthosis comprises a central core metallic wire resistive heating element, an electrically insulating layer such as glass fiber or nylon fiber, and a structural layer of carbon fiber composites. The conformable and reconfigurable orthosis further comprises a thermal insulation and/or a skin compatible cushioning layer.
KNEE BRACE AND LEG BRACE
A knee brace includes a thigh fixing part, a shank fixing part, an outer leg joint that couples the thigh fixing part with the shank fixing part, and an inner leg joint that couples the thigh fixing part with the shank fixing part. When the wearer P flexes his/her knee joint, a lower arm is rotated with respect to an upper arm along with a rotation fulcrum shaft sliding in a long groove and a cam shaft sliding in a cam groove. When the outer leg joint and the inner leg joint are extended, the lower arm of the outer leg joint is configured to be moved relatively forward with respect to the lower arm of the inner leg joint.
ADJUSTABLE TOE PLATE FOR AN ADJUSTABLE BOOT BRACE
An adjustable toe plate for an adjustable boot brace adapted to aid in stretching and supporting inflamed tissues and/or an inflamed plantar fascia within a person's foot while healing. The adjustable toe plate includes a toe plate adjustment mechanism to adjust the angle of the toe plate with respect to its foot portion, such that a person can adjust the position and angle of their toes during the healing process.
WRIST PROTECTING BAND
The present invention relates to a wrist protecting band. The present invention provides a wrist protecting band wherein: a compression pad is used to compress only an ulna part and a radius part of the wrist toward the center of the wrist, thereby enabling the band to prevent side effects such as hand tingling or hand swelling and stably perform a wrist protecting function; and a mutual coupling force between compression members pivotably coupled to each other is controlled by a user's manipulation so as to control compression load applied to the ulna part and radius part of the wrist, thereby enabling the band to be more conveniently and optimally used according to user needs.
