The top cover and the bottom cover may measure between about 22-26 centimeters long and between about 6.5-8.5 centimeters wide, when measured flat. The gel pack may be frozen and/or heated.
Water absorbent resin powder for heat-generating element composition, and heat-generating element composition
An object of the present invention is to provide a water absorbent resin powder for a heat-generating element composition, which suppresses the generation of the aggregates derived from the water absorbent resin and the adhesion of the water absorbent resin in the production of a heat-generating element composition. A present inventive water absorbent resin powder for a heat-generating element composition includes polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water absorbent resin powder which have a bulk specific gravity (specified by JIS K3362) of 0.630 g/cm.sup.3 or less, fluid retention capacity without load (CRC) for a 0.9% by weight aqueous solution of sodium chloride (specified by ERT441.01-2) of 32.0 g/g or less, a weight-average particle diameter (specified by sieve classification) of 250 ?m or more, and an amount of a residual glycidyl-based crosslinking agent of 10 ppm or less.
CONFORMING HEATING PAD
The present disclosure is directed to a heating pad that conforms to body parts of a user. The conforming heating pad can be worn to provide heat relief on different parts of a user's body. In an embodiment, a conforming heating pad includes a first layer on a posterior side of the heating pad, a second layer, a third layer, and a fourth layer on an anterior side of the heating pad. A continuous heating element is distributed throughout the second layer. The continuous heating element is capable of being selectively heated to increase the temperature of the heating pad. The third layer has a plurality of cavities formed in it. Each cavity holds a plurality of beads. When the heating pad is applied to a body portion of a user, the weight of the beads applies a force against the conductive heating element, the second layer, and the first layer to thereby conform them to the body portion of the user.
ICE PACKS, HEATING PADS, COOLERS, AND ICE PACK CARRIERS WITH AN EXTERNAL SURFACE COATED WITH A COATING CONTAINING AN ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT
An ice pack comprises a plastic sac with an external surface, the plastic sac forming an interior chamber, a substance within the interior chamber capable of absorbing thermal energy, and a coating, which contains one or more antimicrobial agents, on the external surface. The substance can comprise water, including polymer beads mixed with the water. The one or more antimicrobial agents can include a quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof, such as a silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof. The silane quaternary ammonium ion or salt thereof can be 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride, 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium ion, or 3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride. Instead of an ice pack, the apparatus comprising the coating containing one or more antimicrobial agents can be an object that is used around injured people and/or perishable items such as heating pads, coolers, and ice pack carriers.
FILM USED FOR OUTER BAG FOR CHEMICAL BODY WARMER
This film for an outer bag is a film that is used in an outer bag for containing a chemical body warmer. The film contains at least a deposition film layer obtained by depositing a metal and/or a metal compound. and the film has an oxygen permeability. at 50? C. of 11.4 to 62.8 cc/m.sup.2?day?atm. The film forms the outer bag of a chemical body warmer.
HOT/COLD TEMPERATURE TREATMENT APPARATUS
Packs for providing heat or cold to a body part or parts. In some embodiments, packs comprising an outer flexible shell or skin housing or carrying a plurality of beads mixed in combination with a liquid or gel. In some embodiments, packs, which can be (or are) configured into various shapes, which contain heads in combination with a liquid or gel solution, which can be heated or cooled for application, thereafter, to a body part for providing hot or cold therapy to the body part.
Outer bag for disposable body warmer packaging and disposable body warmer
An outer bag for disposable body warmer packaging and a disposable body warmer are provided that are excellent in a gas barrier property that inhibits permeation of oxygen gas, water vapor, and the like, which can allow swelling due to hydrogen gas generated during a storage period to be prevented. Provided is an outer bag for disposable body warmer packaging having an accommodating portion accommodating a disposable body warmer accommodated in an air-permeable inner bag and generating heat through contact with air, the outer bag comprising a low air-permeability portion having an oxygen permeability of 1.5 to 20 cc/m.sup.2.Math.day.Math.atm measured at 20? C. and 90% RH and having a water vapor permeability of 0.05 to 10 g/m.sup.2.Math.day measured at 40?
