Temperature control agent, and heat-generating composition and warming device each using same
A means can be used instead of or with conventional temperature control to achieve warming device temperature control at a lower cost, prevent or reduce deterioration of a warming device over time, and lower generated heat temperature due to storage at high temperatures. The warming device can be used for the same. A higher level temperature control means can be used for warming devices for medical applications. An improved warming device can be used for medical applications with a high level of safety and efficacy. A temperature control agent controls a maximum temperature of a warming device with a heat generating composition that generates heat by reaction with oxygen. Said agent includes an aliphatic compound that has a particle form that will not pass through a standard sieve with a #60 mesh, a melting point of 35-65? C., and an aqueous solubility (g/100 mL) at 20? C. of ?5.
HEATER
A warming device containing a topsheet to be located close to a skin of a user, a backsheet to be located far from the skin of the user, and a heat generating element interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The heat generating element contains an oxidizable metal, a carbon material, an electrolyte, and water, the heat generating element is configured to generate vapor from the heat generating element itself as heat is generated, the topsheet includes a breathable fiber sheet including fibers containing at least a polyethylene terephthalate resin, and the topsheet contains first fibers having a fiber diameter of more than 15 ?m in plan view as measured by observation under a scanning electron microscope.
Medical devices for generating heat and methods of treatment using same
A device comprising a heat-generating component that comprises an alkali metal is provided. The alkali metal in the presence of water at a point of contact of the device undergoes an exothermic reaction to generate heat in situ. The amount of heat generated is proportional to and/or limited by the amount (or moles) of water at the point of contact, and the heat generated is sufficient to achieve an increase in temperature at the point of contact to achieve a therapeutic or beneficial result. In one embodiment, the device is used for reducing sweat production in a subject suffering from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. In other embodiments, the device is used to substantially sterilize a surface or render a surface substantially aseptic.
HANDHELD MULTI-TIP SCRAPING AND MOXIBUSTION DEVICE
A handheld multi-tip scraping and moxibustion device, including: pushing and scraping air-guiding tips distributed on a panel each having a through-cavity;and a moxa burning chamber communicating with the through-cavity to enable heat and air in the moxa burning chamber to be discharged gradually for use through the pushing and scraping heat-conducting and air-guiding tips. The pushing and scraping air-guiding tips including a first set of pushing and scraping heat-conducting and air-guiding tips located in a middle portion of the panel and a second set of pushing and scraping heat-conducting and air-guiding tips located around the first set of pushing and scraping air-guiding tips, wherein the height of the first set of pushing and scraping heat-conducting and air-guiding tips is less than the height of the second set of pushing and scraping heat-conducting and air-guiding tips in order to form a multi-layered stepped air discharge.
Disposable thermal regulation apparatus
The present invention is directed to a thermo-regulation device for treating an area with in need of thermal regulation. The invention includes a device configured to be fitted over an area in need of thermal regulation; wherein a plurality of cells are integral to the covering body, each cell is equipped with at least one of a plurality of reactants. Each cell of the present invention is in one configuration joined to a neighboring cell by a destructible barrier. The reactants are configured to produce a thermal event when combined with at least one other reactant.
HEATING COMPRESS
An object of the present invention is to provide a heat-generating device with which a warm sensation is persistently perceived, and which can effectively exert a heating effect. In a heat-generating device that is used by being attached to skin, (1) a packaging material constituting a skin attachment surface of a housing is formed of a laminated sheet in which at least a moisture absorption layer that absorbs moisture and a moisture barrier layer that blocks penetration of moisture are laminated in this order from the adhesive layer, (2) an adhesive layer is partially provided on a surface of the moisture absorption layer, and (3) a warming agent that allows an enhanced warm sensation to be perceived in the presence of moisture is contained in at least one of the adhesive layer and the moisture absorption layer. This heat-generating device thereby has improved persistence of a perceived warm sensation, and can exert a markedly high heating effect.
Temperature changing blankets
A self-heating warming blanket includes a pliable outer shell forming a liquid impermeable enclosure. A heat generation layer disposed inside the enclosure has a plurality of liquid permeable heater compartments containing an exothermic reactant. The blanket also has a heater activation system including a sealed bladder containing an activator liquid inside the enclosure. An activation strip extends from outside the outer shell into the enclosure. One segment of the strip is an unsealing segment connected to the bladder. Another segment of the strip is a handle segment outside the outer shell. Pulling on the handle segment opens the bladder and releases the activator liquid into the enclosure where at least a portion of it permeates at least one heater compartment and combines with the exothermic reactant contained therein to initiate an exothermic chemical reaction that heats the warming blanket.
Disposable body warmer
The present invention provides a disposable body warmer that makes it possible to suppress scattering of moisture contained in the exothermic composition from the outer bag, and thereby ensure a desired exothermic duration of the exothermic composition when the disposable body warmer is kept in an unused state for a long period of time. The disposable body warmer is structured such that an exothermic composition that contains moisture and generates heat by contact with air is enclosed in one or more air-permeable inner bags, which are accommodated in an airtight outer bag. The outer bag comprises two accommodation units that are partitioned from each other and capable of containing the one or more inner bags. The one or more inner bags each comprise at least one enclosure unit capable of enclosing the exothermic composition, and are accommodated in each accommodation unit in a manner such that at least one of the enclosure units is overlaid with another enclosure unit. The outer bag is formed by overlaying two wrapping films with each other, sealing an entire outer peripheral edge, and partitioning the accommodation units by sealing. Further, in the disposable body warmer, Parameters A to H are set to satisfy Formula (1) below
