TAMPON AND METHOD OF MAKING
A tampon has a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and an absorbent member. The absorbent member has an insertion area, a withdrawal area, and an intermediate area between the insertion area and the withdrawal area and an attachment area. The absorbent material has a plurality of fiber integrated nonwoven layers but are without fiber integration adjacent layers outboard of the attachment area. A withdrawal line extends from the withdrawal area and is attached to the absorbent member in the attachment area such that each of the plurality of absorbent layers is attached to an adjacent nonwoven layer in the attachment area.
Tampon assembly providing proper bodily placement of pledget
Provided is a tampon applicator having one or more insertion indicators to gauge and/or control the insertion depth of a tampon. The one or more insertion indicators may be located on the tampon applicator barrel, plunger, tampon, removal string, or any combinations thereof. As a result of the one or more insertion indicators, a woman can adjust the insertion depth of the tampon to her body's requirements ensuring leakage protection, comfort, or both.
PERSONAL HYGIENE DEVICE FOR DETECTING A FLUID
A personal hygiene device may have a main body with an absorbent material configured to absorb a fluid, a sensor disposed within the main body, and a controller configured to communicate with the sensor. The sensor has a conductor and an insulator containing at least a portion of the conductor, and the sensor is configured to detect a first electrical value and a second electrical value that is different from the first electrical value. The sensor is also configured to transmit a signal to the controller upon detection of the second electrical value.
Absorbent tampon including fiber integrated layers
A tampon has a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and an absorbent member. The absorbent member has an insertion area, a withdrawal area, and an intermediate area between the insertion area and the withdrawal area and an attachment area. The absorbent material has a plurality of fiber integrated nonwoven layers but are without fiber integration adjacent layers outboard of the attachment area. A withdrawal line extends from the withdrawal area and is attached to the absorbent member in the attachment area such that each of the plurality of absorbent layers is attached to an adjacent nonwoven layer in the attachment area.
TAMPON ASSEMBLY HAVING A SHAPED PLEDGET
A tampon assembly having a barrel, a plunger, and a pledget is provided. The plunger is slidably received in the barrel. The pledget is in the barrel between the insertion tip and the plunger so that a force applied on the plunger can expel the pledget from the barrel. The barrel has a plurality of petals defining an insertion tip, which has a first taper ratio of more than about 0.3 to less than 1.0. The pledget has a shaped tip that is disposed in the insertion tip.
TAMPON
In the manufacture of a tampon, an absorbent structure composed of an absorbent material can be formed into a tampon blank. In various embodiments, a withdrawal element can be attached to the absorbent structure either before or after the absorbent structure is formed into a tampon blank. The tampon blank can then undergo a compression step which can result in the pledget of the tampon. The pledget, and resultant tampon, can have at least one linear channel and at least one non-linear channel.
WEARABLE PERINEUM LEAKAGE CONTROL DEVICE
A perineum control device attachable to the user's undergarment, belt or similar clothing to apply pressure to the perineum to control various conditions including leakages of body fluids from the urethral, anal, and vaginal openings. The device and method comprise one or more front and rear retractors having a retractable cord supporting a bridge or band member positioned against a user's perineum. When a user puts on their undergarment, or tensioned and retractable cords exert a constant and predetermined upward compression force to an attached sanitary article (such as pads/napkins). The force pushes/pulls the article against the perineum increasing the perineum pressure above an abdominal or bladder pressure, which prevents or mitigates leakages and/or prolapses. The device keeps the article in constant close contact with the orifices of the perineum regardless of a user's vigorous movements and regardless of a user's body size, shape, and anatomical differences.
SYSTEM, METHOD, ARTICLE, GARMENT AND APPARATUS FOR OBTAINING BODILY INFORMATION FROM MENSTRUAL FLUID
Systems, methods, techniques, articles, garments and apparatuses for obtaining bodily information from menstrual fluid. A patch portion with a biosensor is placed within the garment or article in communication with the menstrual blood flow. The measured bodily information obtained from the menstruating woman is then transmitted either physically or electronically to a lab or others for further analysis.
SECURE TAMPON
The present invention relates to novel and secure tampons that overcome the problems associated with conventional non-secure tampons, and methods of using the novel and secure tampons.
