MEDICAL DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND RELATED METHODS

A medical device may comprise a handle, wherein the handle includes a movable body and a main body; a cap configured to be coupled to a distal end of a scope; a patch, wherein the patch is moveable relative to the cap; and a petal body. The patch may be removably coupled to the petal body. The medical device may further comprise an actuator body coupling the patch to the moveable body such that movement of the moveable body extends the patch from the cap. The petal body may be configured to transition between a closed configuration in which the patch is retracted, and an open configuration in which the patch is extended radially-outward from a central longitudinal axis of the scope.

Methods and apparatuses for manufacturing multiple different articles are provided. One apparatus embodiment includes a first intravaginal article assembly module; a second intravaginal article assembly module; and an applicator module capable of receiving and handling applicators suitable for both first intravaginal articles from the first intravaginal article assembly module and second intravaginal articles from the second intravaginal article assembly module. The apparatus only operates with one of the first intravaginal article assembly module and the second intravaginal article assembly module at one time. The first intravaginal articles are absorbent articles and the second intravaginal articles are non-absorbent articles.

INSERTER FOR URETHRAL PLUG

A urethral plug inserter for insertion a urethral plug into a urethra of a male subject. The device including: a proximal insertion end; a distal gripping end; a central portion disposed between the proximal insertion end and the distal gripping end; and a central channel comprising a floor and axially extending from the proximal insertion end to the distal gripping end and configured to accept a lanyard section of the urethral plug.

INTRODUCER FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE

An introducer used to insert a urinary incontinence device into a vagina. The introducer includes a housing including a vaginal insertion tube at a proximal end of the housing and a storage section at a distal end of the housing. The storage section is shaped and dimensioned for storage of the urinary incontinence device prior to insertion and the vaginal insertion tube is shaped and dimensioned for the passage of the urinary incontinence device therethrough. The dimensions of the storage section are such that the urinary incontinence device contained therein is in its deployed non-compressed state allowing the urinary incontinence device to be stored in its non-compressed state prior to use. The introducer also includes a plunger which travels within the housing.

An injection-molded article includes a water-dispersible injection-moldable composition including 82 wt. % to 86 wt. % partially-hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), 11 wt. % to 13 wt. % plasticizer, and 3 wt. % to 5 wt. % total colorant and slip additives, wherein the injection-molded article has an outer surface, and wherein the composition at the outer surface is surface cross-linked. A method for controlling the dispersibility of an injection-molded article having an outer surface includes formulating a water-dispersible injection-moldable composition including 82 wt. % to 86 wt. % partially-hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), 11 wt. % to 13 wt. % plasticizer, and 3 wt. % to 5 wt. % total colorant and slip additives; injection molding the single resin composition into the injection-molded article; and treating the outer surface to increase the cross-linking of the composition at the outer surface.

MENSTRUAL DEVICE AND APPLICATOR SYSTEM

A menstrual device having a storage volume. The menstrual device has a frame and a fluid barrier seal layer attached to the exterior surface of the frame. The menstrual device has an expanded configuration that includes an at rest configuration and a deployed configuration. The menstrual device has a compact configuration where the menstrual device is confined to a size, shape and/or geometry smaller than an expanded configuration such that it can be more easily inserted into the body. The menstrual device in a compact configuration is contained within an applicator, where the applicator assists in ejecting the menstrual device into the body.

TAMPON PRODUCT INCLUDING APPLICATOR HAVING COMPONENTS MOLDED OF PULP-BASED COMPOSITE

A tampon applicator assembly is disclosed. The applicator assembly may include a barrel portion, a grip portion and an ejection plunger configured to slide coaxially within one or both the barrel portion and the grip portion. One or more of the barrel portion, grip portion and ejection plunger may be molded from a molding composite comprising cellulose fibers.

Medical systems, devices, and related methods

In one example, a medical system may comprise a delivery tube configured to couple to a vacuum source and provide negative pressure to a distal portion of the delivery tube; and a porous body at a distal portion of the delivery tube, the porous body including a first section and a second section removable from the first section.

Tampon applicator including beveled portion

A tampon applicator assembly includes a barrel and a plunger. The barrel has a proximal opening, a distal opening, and a wall. The wall has an interior surface that defines a channel extending from the proximal opening to the distal opening, and includes a beveled portion that defines the proximal opening. The channel is configured to releasably retain a tampon. The plunger is disposed in the barrel and configured for slidable passage through the channel of the barrel.

Tampon assembly having a shaped pledget

The present invention provides a tampon applicator assembly having an applicator barrel with an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals. Additionally, the tampon applicator assembly can be provided with a tapered insertion tip. A shaped pledget can be housed in the applicator barrel, which provides support to the petals.
