SELF-SUPPORTING ABSORBENT ARTICLE SYSTEM

A self-supporting absorbent article system can have an absorbent article and a support frame. The support frame is capable of supporting the absorbent article in a position adjacent to the body of the wearer of the absorbent article without the need for either 1) the absorbent article to be placed into the wearer's undergarment for support or 2) utilization of any other waistband, straps, or adhesive to maintain the support frame in position on the wearer's body.

Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may provide an incontinence pad that includes projection, such as a raised ridge, or a short length projection, that extends from a pad base of and effects application of a force against the urethra of a user (the force, typically upward, that may result from sitting by the user and/or tight fitting shorts and/or pulling a cord attached to the projection); the projection may act to transfer a force from the projection to the urethra. This force may partially or entirely obstruct flow of urine through, or out of the urethra, that might occur otherwise (i.e., without the projection). Another example of the many independent aspects of the inventive technology relates to the provision, as part of an incontinence pad, of a cord that is attached to part of the pad, such as (in only certain embodiments) the aforementioned upward projection.

Sanitary Pads on a Roll

A sanitary-pad roll includes a core and a strip that is wrapped around the core. The strip, when unrolled, extends along a longitudinal direction that is perpendicular to a transverse direction. In addition, the strip includes an impermeable layer, an absorbent layer, and a weakened region that extends along the transverse direction and defines segments that are detachable from the strip. These segments, when detached, form corresponding sanitary pads. The impermeable layer, which is wider than the absorbent layer, is folded over along the longitudinal direction to form an overlap, thereby enclosing the absorbent layer.

An absorbent article having a pair of longitudinal edges, front and rear transverse edges, a front end region, a rear end region, and a central region disposed between the front and rear end regions. The absorbent article has a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, a pair of outwardly convex longitudinal central channels formed at least in the central region. The traversal distance of the pair of outwardly convex longitudinal central channels decreases towards both ends of the channels to define a central closed area. The absorbent article has a rear channel defining a rear closed area in the rear end region.

Body adhering absorbent article

The present invention provides a body adhering absorbent article which is capable of absorbing bodily fluids. In this particular embodiment of the present invention, provided is an absorbent article which is specifically designed for attachment to a wearer's skin in the vulva region of the wearer's torso.
