A second connecting assembly comprising a second line is releasably securable to the dock. At least two elongate floats are secured to the second line. The second connecting assembly is connected to the float of the first connecting assembly, and the second connecting assembly is longer than the first line.
ASPHALTIC MIXTURE CONDITIONER, CONDITIONED ASPHALTIC PAVING MIXTURE, THEIR PROCESSES OF PREPARATION, THEIR USES IN PAVING SURFACES, PAVED SURFACES AND SYSTEM TO PREPARE AN ASPHALTIC MIXTURE CONDITIONER
The invention refers to an asphaltic mixture conditioner comprising a bitumen, a polyol, a surfactant, a mineral acid and water. The invention further refers to a conditioned asphaltic paving mixture comprising bitumen, aggregate and the said asphaltic mixture conditioner.
The asphaltic mixture conditioner, used as an additive, solves problems of the prior art related to bituminous paving composition, which demand a prompt use of the asphalt compositions in situ. The additive contributes to preparation of a conditioned asphaltic paving mixture which may be storage at ambient temperature for longer periods, wherein the additive, at ambient temperature, may be added into a mix of aggregate and bitumen. Before being applied onto a surface, it is heated to a temperature range from 130° C. to 170° C., wherein all the necessary features to properly be applied onto the surface are maintained.
MARINE FENDER AND METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING A BODY BETWEEN A VESSEL AND AN OFFSHORE STRUCTURE
Marine fender (1) for engaging an offshore structure (10) during a transfer operation. The fender (1) comprises a mount (3) for fixing the fender (1) to a vessel (5). An engagement part (2) engages with an opposing surface (11) of the offshore structure (10) when the vessel (5) and opposing surface are forced together such that interface friction resists movement of the engagement part (1) over the opposing surface (11). A coupling (4) is provided connecting the engagement part (2) to the mount (3), wherein the coupling (4) comprises a regulating part for regulating the velocity of movement of the engagement part (2) over the opposing surface (11).
OLIGOTERPENES AS REJUVENATING AGENT IN ASPHALT
An asphalt mixture comprising an oligoterpene composition and reclaimed asphalt and/or virgin asphalt, a method of preparing said asphalt mixture, a bituminous binder-oligoterpene blend and a method for rejuvenating reclaimed asphalt or treating virgin asphalt are disclosed, wherein the oligoterpene composition comprises at least one oligoterpene with at least two isoprene moieties selected from a diterpene, a triterpene, a tetraterpene, a pentaterpene and a hexaterpene. The method of preparing an asphalt mixture comprises mixing the oligoterpene composition with reclaimed asphalt and/or virgin asphalt. The oligoterpene-bituminous binder blend, comprises 0.5-50 wt. % of the oligoterpene composition based on the total weight of the blend. The method for rejuvenating reclaimed asphalt or treating virgin asphalt comprises mixing the oligoterpene composition with reclaimed asphalt or virgin asphalt to form a modified asphalt.
WATERPROOF SHEET AND METHOD FOR WATERPROOFING CONSTRUCTION
A waterproof sheet which comprises a base layer constituted of a silicone rubber and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer superposed thereon and which is for use in preventing the infiltration of rainwater, etc., characterized in that the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is constituted of a cured object of an addition reaction type curable silicone composition in which the theoretical amount of crosslinks is 0.005-0.01 mol/g and the ratio of the amount of SiH groups to the amount of alkenyl groups, SiH/alkenyl, is 0.5-1.1 by mole and which, when cured, has a hardness as measured with a CSR-2 type hardness meter of 3-20. This waterproof sheet can be used over a long period without decreasing in physical property, and has waterproofing properties over a long period. In particular, by delimiting the hardness and adhesive force of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the waterproof sheet can be made to withstand long-term use. The waterproof sheet exhibits excellent durability concerning pressure-sensitive adhesive properties especially in high-humidity or high-temperature environments.
Rejuvenation of reclaimed asphalt
Asphalt compositions comprising reclaimed asphalt and an ester-functional rejuvenating agent derived from tall oil are disclosed. Rejuvenated binder compositions are also included. The rejuvenating agents restore to reclaimed asphalt desirable properties of virgin asphalt. Reduced glass-transition onset temperatures and improved creep stiffness in the rejuvenated binders translate to improved low-temperature cracking resistance in the asphalt. The rejuvenating agents impart desirable softening at low dosage while also maintaining acceptable penetration values. Dynamic shear rheometry results demonstrate that criteria for asphalt compositions under low, intermediate, and high temperature conditions can be achieved, and the asphalt will have good fatigue cracking resistance and rutting avoidance. The rejuvenating agents reduce the temperature needed to compact or mix asphalt compositions, which conserves energy and reduces cost. The rejuvenated asphalt and binder compositions enable greater use of reclaimed asphalt, especially RAP, and help the road construction industry reduce its reliance on virgin, non-renewable materials.
