A method of installing a roof planter assembly includes providing first and second planter modules each including a bottom wall and a plurality of sidewalls that cooperate with the bottom wall to form an interior space adapted to receive plant matter therein, wherein at least a pair of the plurality of sidewalls cooperate to form a corner therebetween, the corner including first and second portions along a length of the corner and having bottom and top edges, respectively, that are entirely horizontally offset and spaced from one another.

Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, machine, device, and/or manufacture that is configured to operably manage a flow of storm water that enters a drainage system of a roof and comprises one or more of a retention layer configured to retain storm water, a friction layer configured to delay a peak flow of the storm water into the drainage system, and a detention layer.

A plant surface structure includes an array of plastic base elements, each base element having a deck carried by a series of pillar elements. The water storage component, and protective component form a composite that allows for stormwater to be retained to an appropriate extent, and for excess stormwater to be adequately controlled.
