Biomass-resource-derived polyester and production process thereof
The present invention provides a resin capable of contributing greatly to solve environmental problems and problems related to exhaustion of fossil fuel resources and having physical properties suited for practical use. The polyester according to the present invention has a diol and a dicarboxylic acid as constituent components and has an amount of terminal acid of 50 equivalents/metric ton or less.

An oil-resistant agent including a graft polymer obtained by graft modification of a bio-based material with a long-chain hydrocarbon group-containing non-fluorine polymer having a long-chain hydrocarbon group having 7 to 40 carbon atoms. Also disclosed is a fiber product including the graft polymer in the oil-resistant agent and a method for producing the oil-resistant agent.
FOOD TRAY APPARATUS AND METHODS
Food tray and food related features that provide a structure having a rounded corner appearance and assembly by mechanical folding are provided, among other features. The tray can have a flap directed adjacent and continuing from a series of triangles formed by fold lines wherein the flap is positioned to have a surface that is flush with the surface of an adjacent sidewall when assembled. A series of tab are positioned above the triangles and when assembled the outer edges of the triangles adjoin the tray sidewalls to close the junctions. A heat and pressure process adheres the adjacent surface. The tray can be made from material is recyclable, compostable and/or biodegradable.

An insulated bag includes a pair of opposing main panels; and a pair of opposing side panels, each side panel attached to each main panel, the main panels and the side panels defining a bag cavity within the insulated bag; the main panels and the side panels defined in an insulated blank, the insulated blank including a first paper layer; and a paper fiber pad coupled to the first paper layer, the paper fiber pad having paper reinforcement fibers interlocked with about 2% to about 25% by weight of a meltable PE/PP bi-component thermoplastic binder fiber distributed substantially randomly, wherein subjecting the repulpable shipping container to a repulpability test produces greater than 85% fiber yield.
MULTI-LAYERED PRODUCT HAVING AN EMBOSSED INTERIOR LAYER AND A METHOD FOR MAKING THE PRODUCT
A multi-layered product having an embossed interior layer is disclosed along with a method of making the product. The multi-layered product has a first layer with an interior surface, a second layer with an interior surface, and a third layer sandwiched between the first and second layers. The third layer has a first surface and a second surface and has a thickness therebetween. The third layer is embossed into a waffle pattern having a plurality of protrusions and a plurality of recesses. Each of the plurality of protrusions and recesses is adjacently aligned and horizontally offset from one another. The plurality of protrusions forms a horizontal plane, at the first surface, which is positioned above a horizontal plane formed by the plurality of recesses, at the first surface. The product also has an adhesive which secures the three layers together.
Method of Producing a Biodegradable Cartridge for Tobacco Vapour System
A method of producing a biodegradable cartridge having a predominantly elongated cylindrical shape having a cavity, including steps of providing a first element of a sheet form into a cylindrical form; providing a second element to the cavity of a first end of the cartridge, thereby closing the first end of the cartridge; providing another second element to the cavity of a second end of the cartridge, thereby closing the second end of the cartridge; providing a third element to the second end of the cartridge such that the periphery of the second end is larger than the periphery of the first end of the cartridge; wherein the first element, the second element and the third element are made of biodegradable materials, wherein the elements are configured for an air flow to flow from the first end to the second end of the elongated cylindrical shape cartridge, and/or vice versa.

A disposable cooler can include: (1) a body having a base and a plurality of support walls coupled to the base, the plurality of support walls and the base defining an interior cavity of the body, and the plurality of support walls extending upwardly from the base to form an opening at an upper terminus of the body in fluid communication with the interior cavity; (2) a lid configured to reversibly couple with the body, the lid shaped to cover the opening of the body; and (3) a handle for carrying the cooler which is extends along a first support wall, the base, an opposite support wall, and above and beyond the lid so that a user can carry and/or transport the cooler with one hand while keeping the other hand free. The body, lid, and handle can be made entirely of a compostable, recyclable, and/or biodegradable.
Water & Oil Impermeable Paper Products, Paper Bags and the Process for Manufacturing the Same
Paper products, which could be made into bags, wrappers, receptacles, cups, boxes, and the like, are disclosed. The paper is coated with a water-resistant and oil resistant coating. In the case of forming paper bags, pouches, and the lie, the adhesives that could be used to bond the coated side in juxtaposition that can form a high bonding power can be any latex-base modifier copolymer, or modified loctite by heat sealing or the use of styrene ester copolymer are also disclosed.
COATING STRUCTURE, SHEET-LIKE PRODUCT AND ITS USE
The present invention relates to a coating structure for a sheet-like substrate comprising cellulosic fibres. The coating structure comprises at least a first coating layer and a second coating layer, where the second coating layer is arranged in a direct contact with the first coating layer. At least the first coating layer or the second coating layer is a barrier coating layer comprising at least one water-soluble cellulose derivative selected from alkyl celluloses, hydroxyalkyl alkyl celluloses, hydroxyalkyl celluloses and any of their mixtures, and a plasticizer.
