VALIDATING POWER NETWORK MODELS FOR MONITORING AND CORRECTING OPERATION OF ELECTRIC POWER NETWORKS
This disclosure involves verifying that a power network model corresponds to an electric power network providing electrical power in a geographical area. For instance, a validation device computes a validation score for a power network model based on a connectivity score, an asset score, and a power-flow score. The connectivity score indicates connectivity errors in the power network model as compared to the power network. The asset score indicates power-delivery errors in the power network model with respect to power-consuming assets serviced by the power network. The power-flow score indicates power-flow calculation errors in the power network model with respect to voltage ranges for the power network. The validation score is repeatedly computed for iteratively updated versions of the power network model until a threshold validation score is obtained. The validated power network model is provided to a control system for identifying and correcting errors in the power network.
Real-Time Forecasting of Electricity Demand in a Streams-Based Architecture with Applications
A streams platform is used. Multiple streams of electricity usage data are received, each from an electrical meter providing periodic updates to electrical usage for devices connected to the electrical meter. Weather information is received corresponding to locations where the electrical meters are. Real-time predictive modeling of electricity demand is performed based on the received multiple streams of electricity usage data and the received weather information, at least by performing: updating a state space model for electrical load curves using the usage data from the streams and the weather, wherein the updating uses current load observations for the multiple streams for a current time period; and creating forecast(s) for the electricity demand. The forecast(s) of the electricity demand are output. Appliance-level predictions may be made and used, and substitution effects and load management functions may be performed.
System and Method for Dispatching an Operation of a Distribution Feeder with Heterogeneous Prosumers
A method for dispatching an operation of a distribution feeder of electrical power into a grid with heterogeneous prosumers, the method comprising the steps of establishing a dispatch plan on a computer by using forecast data of an aggregated consumption and local distributed generation at the grid for a predetermined period, and operating the distribution feeder according to the established dispatch plan during the predetermined period.
Method for integrating individual load forecasts into a composite load forecast to present a comprehensive, synchronized and harmonized load forecast
A method is provided for merging different load forecasts for power grid centers. Area load forecasts are accepted from load forecast engines. A relational database saves load forecast engine data. A comprehensive operating plan integrates individual load forecasts into a composite load forecast to present a comprehensive, synchronized and harmonized load forecast.
Forecast system and method of electric power demand
A plurality of forecast weather groups in a period comprising a plurality of days including a forecast target day for forecasting the electric power demand, and a plurality of actual weather groups in a period in a plurality of days in the past are set as the target period, and the similarity between the forecast weather group and the plurality of actual weather groups is calculated, a trend of a subsequent electric power demand is predicted based on the comparison of the plurality of calculated similarities whereby the electric power demand of a forecast target day is known.
Method and device for controlling an energy-generating system which can be operated with a renewable energy source
A method and a device for controlling an energy-generating system are operated with a renewable energy source. In the method, a prediction about an energy yield of the energy-generating system is made for a predefined prediction time period, and a predefined area, using a learning system with an input vector and an output vector. The output vector includes operating variables for a multiplicity of successive future times of the time period. The input vector includes variables, influencing the operating variables, for a point in time from a multiplicity of points in time of a predefined observation time period. The input variables include at least three items of information for the observation time period and the predefined area. The energy-generating system is controlled on the basis of the generated prediction such that weather-conditioned fluctuations in the energy yield of the energy-generating system are reduced.
Concepts for identifying an asset sort location
Systems and methods for facilitating the sorting of assets to sort locations. In various embodiments, a sort employee scans an indicia using a user device, which stores asset data corresponding to the stored asset. As the sort employee nears a sort location (e.g., a delivery vehicle) with the asset and the user device, the user device automatically communicates wirelessly with a sort location receiver to associate the asset with data indicative of the sort location where the user deposits the asset. In various embodiments, a device may determine whether the user device is proximate the appropriate sort location for the item, and may generate an alert upon a determination that the user device is proximate an incorrect sort location.
Computing system implementing a driver selection process based on device location
A computing system establishes a geofence associated with a particular service area, where the geofence corresponds to a set of rules for matching drivers with requesting users of the transport service. The system monitors a location of a computing device of a driver and detects when the driver enters the geofence. In response to the driver entering the geofence, the system places the driver into a queue for the particular service area. The system receives a transport request from a computing device of a requesting user, where the transport request is associated with the particular service area. The system arranges the transport service for the requesting user in accordance with the set of rules by (i) selecting a driver from the queue to service the transport request for the requesting user, and (ii) communicating a pickup location for the transport request to a computing device of the selected driver.
Techniques to configure physical compute resources for workloads via circuit switching
Embodiments are generally directed apparatuses, methods, techniques and so forth to select two or more processing units of the plurality of processing units to process a workload, and configure a circuit switch to link the two or more processing units to process the workload, the two or more processing units each linked to each other via paths of communication and the circuit switch.
