A disposable absorbent article may include a chassis that includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a leg gasketing system. The leg gasketing system may include an inner cuff and an outer cuff; the inner cuff may include an inner cuff folded edge and an inner cuff material edge, and the outer cuff may include an outer cuff material edge such that the web of material is folded laterally outward to form the inner cuff folded edge, and the leg gasketing system further including a leg gasketing system pocket with an opening on an inboard longitudinal edge of the leg gasketing system pocket. The disposable absorbent article also includes at least one channel in the absorbent core.

An absorbent sanitary article including a chassis and at least one gasketing element including two non-elastic outer layers and a transversally stretchable elastic film, wherein the transversally stretchable elastic film is shorter than the two non-elastic outer layers both in longitudinal and transverse directions, so that the gasketing element has two non-elastic longitudinal portions and two non-elastic transverse portions forming a non-elastic frame surrounding the transversally stretchable elastic film.

An absorbent sanitary article including a chassis and at least one transverse elastic element including in a unitary component an elastic gasketing portion extending between two side edges of the chassis and two elastic side panels extending transversally outwardly beyond respective side edges of the chassis.

The absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) can also include a waist containment member (54, 154, 254). The waist containment member (54, 154, 254) can include a proximal portion (76) coupled to the body facing surface (19) of the chassis (11) and a distal portion (78) that includes a free edge (88). The distal portion (78) can be free to move with respect to the chassis (11) when the absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) is in a relaxed configuration. The free edge (88) can be about 50.0 millimeters or less from the rear waist edge (24) of the absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) when the absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) is in the stretched, laid-flat configuration.

An absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) can include a chassis (11) including an absorbent body (34). The chassis (11) can include a body facing surface (19). The absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) can also include a waist containment member (54, 154, 254). The waist containment member (54, 154, 254) can include a proximal portion (76) coupled to the body facing surface (19) of the chassis (11) and a distal portion (78) that includes a free edge (88). The distal portion (78) can be free to move with respect to the chassis (11) when the absorbent article (10, 110, 210, 310) is in a relaxed configuration. Disclosed is a pant type absorbent article having a waist guard on the back elastic belt, wherein the waist guard comprises a waist guard elastic portion. The absorbent article has a Blowout Percent Leakage of less than 1% when subjected to the Blowout Method herein.

A disposable absorbent article may include a chassis that includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a leg gasketing system and a waist gasketing element. When tested by the Blowout Method Test as described herein, the disposable absorbent article has a Blowout Percent Leakage of less than about 9.0%.

The present invention relates to the field of hygiene appliances, in particular to hygiene articles comprising a means for reducing soiling of the skin of a wearer by body exudates such as faeces, urine, or menses. In particular, it relates to an article with a Skin Protection Sheet (SPS) that comprises a rear opening in registry with the anus during use, and a front opening in registry with a body exudate releasing body opening or genital organ. The openings are urged to the body by a pull means, whilst being spread open cross-directionally, allowing exudates to pass through. Such a hygiene article may suitably be a baby or adult diaper or pant, a training pant, or a menstrual pant.

The absorbent material deposition area has a maximum length, L.sub.AB, wherein L.sub.AB is about 90% or greater of L.sub.BS. The first absorbent area lateral edge is disposed a longitudinal distance, D1, from the first barrier lateral edge, wherein D1 is 5% or less of L.sub.BS.
