An absorbent article such as a baby diaper comprising a three-dimensional laminate 30 having a first layer 1 intermittently bonded to a second layer 2 by a heterophase polymer. The topsheet comprises three-dimensional protrusions 9 in the first layer 1 which are not bonded to the second layer 2. The heterophase polymer has an enthalpy of fusion of at least 10 J/g. The laminate may be used on the wearer-facing side of the article as topsheet 24 and/or on the garment-facing side as part of the backsheet 26. The first layer may comprise natural fibers.

A topsheet for use in an absorbent article is provided and has at least a first layer. The first layer comprises at least 15% by weight of natural fibers by total weight of the first layer. The first layer has a plurality of apertures. The first layer comprises land areas between the plurality of the apertures. The contact angle on the land areas of the first layer between the plurality of the apertures is more than 70, according to the Contact Angle Test Method. The topsheet has a run-off of less than 40%, according to the Run-off Test Method.

An absorbent article is provided, the absorbent article comprising a nonwoven web. The nonwoven web comprises staple fibers and a latex binder. The staple fibers comprise PET having less than 150 ppm of antimony.

An absorbent article includes a surface sheet that is a non-woven fabric including a first fiber layer configured from cotton and thermoplastic resin fibers and a second fiber layer configured from hydrophobic thermoplastic resin fibers. The non-woven fabric includes: a first surface that is the surface on the side facing the skin and that is formed from the second fiber layer; and a second surface that is the surface on the side not facing the skin and that faces an absorbent body. The non-woven fabric is provided with a plurality of protrusions protruding toward the first surface and a plurality of recessed sections that are provided between adjacent protruding sections and that are recessed toward the second surface. The protrusions include a gap section facing the second surface of the non-woven fabric.

An absorbent article such as a diaper comprising as component a carded calendered nonwoven comprising synthetic staple fibers, wherein the synthetic staple fibers comprise a polypropylene polymer matrix, an ethylene-propylene copolymer and a fatty acid amide, and optionally natural fibers. The nonwovens may be used in application where a soft and affordable nonwoven is desired, for example in the topsheet or backsheet outer cover nonwoven.
