20190167493 · 2019-06-06 ·

An absorbent core composite is disclosed for incorporation into a disposable absorbent article. The composite includes a first material layer and a second material layer (preferably nonwoven) partially secured to the first material layer to define at least one pocket therebetween. Preferably, multiple pockets are defined, except in the case of where a generally uniform layer or bed of absorbent is preferred or better suited for the application. The pocket is said have a fixed initial volume. Further, an aggregate of absorbent particles is provided in the pocket(s) to occupy a portion of the fixed initial volume. The absorbent particles are preferably SAP particles and is characterized by a dry volume associated with a dry state and a swell volume associated with a liquid saturation state. In respect to or for the pocket, the aggregate is characterized by a collective dry volume and a collective swell volume, wherein the pocket has an initial configuration that retains the aggregate therein.

ABSORBENT CORES HAVING MATERIAL FREE AREAS

An absorbent core, for use in an absorbent article, including a core wrap enclosing an absorbent material and including superabsorbent polymer particles. The core wrap includes a top side and a bottom side, and the absorbent core includes one or more area(s) substantially free of absorbent material through which the top side of the core wrap is attached to the bottom side of the core wrap, so that when the absorbent material swells the core wrap forms one or more channel(s) along the area(s) substantially free of absorbent material. The superabsorbent polymer particles have a time to reach an uptake of 20 g/g (T20) of less than 240 s as measured according to the K(t) test method.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE

An absorbent article includes an absorber having a front surface side sheet, a back surface side sheet disposed on the back surface side of the front surface side sheet, cells each of which is surrounded by bonded portions of the front surface side sheet and the back surface side sheet and inside each of which the front surface side sheet and the back surface side sheet are not bonded, and particulate materials which include superabsorbent polymer particles and which are contained in each of the cells. The bonded portions are arranged in continuous line shapes or dotted line shapes so as to form same-sized regular hexagons, which connect each other as unit shapes to be a honeycomb shape. All the cells are the same-sized regular hexagonal cells each of which is surrounded by the bonded portions.

ABSORBENT ARTICLE OR WIPE COMPRISING A NONWOVEN MATERIAL WITH BICOMPONENT FIBERS COMPRISING ANTIMONY-FREE POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE
20190105208 · 2019-04-11 ·

An absorbent article is provided, the absorbent article comprising a nonwoven material. The nonwoven material comprises core/sheath bicomponent fibers wherein the core is formed of PET resin. The present disclosure also provides a wipe comprising a nonwoven material, the nonwoven material comprising core/sheath bicomponent fibers wherein the core is formed of PET resin. The PET has less than 150 ppm of antimony.

Absorbent products having an absorber with a body fluid inflow portion and a superabsorbent resin
10238554 · 2019-03-26 · ·

An absorber includes a concave groove-shaped body fluid inflow portion along a longitudinal direction of an incontinence pad and over a range in the longitudinal direction including a body fluid discharge portion of a wearer, and a granular powder superabsorbent resin is arranged at least on a side edge portion of the absorber and over the range in the longitudinal direction including the body fluid inflow portion. Since the body fluid flowing into the body fluid inflow portion is diffused and is absorbed and held in the superabsorbent resin on the side edge portion of the absorber, it is possible to provide an adequate absorbed amount in the absorber despite the concave groove in the absorber. Even when the superabsorbent resin becomes swollen with absorbed body fluid, the body fluid inflow portion is not blocked, with the result that the absorption speed is not reduced.

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OF AN ABSORBENT ELEMENT FOR SANITARY PRODUCTS

An apparatus for manufacturing an absorbent element for sanitary products and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The absorbent element is of the type incorporating plurality of sacs or pockets in which expandable super-absorbent material is placed.

ABSORBENT CORES HAVING MATERIAL FREE AREAS

An absorbent core (28), for use in an absorbent article, comprising a core wrap (16, 16) enclosing an absorbent material (60) comprising superabsorbent polymer particles. The core wrap comprises a top side (16) and a bottom side (16), and the absorbent core comprises one or more area(s) (26) substantially free of absorbent material through which the top side of the core wrap is attached to the bottom side of the core wrap, so that when the absorbent material swells the core wrap forms one or more channel(s) (26) along the area(s) (26) substantially free of absorbent material. The superabsorbent polymer particles have a time to reach an uptake of 20 g/g (T20) of less than 240 s as measured according to the K(t) test method.

Absorbent composite, an absorbent article employing the same, and methods, systems, and apparatus for making the absorbent composite and/or article

An absorbent core composite is disclosed for incorporation into a disposable absorbent article. The composite includes a first material layer and a second material layer (preferably nonwoven) partially secured to the first material layer to define at least one pocket therebetween. Preferably, multiple pockets are defined, except in the case of where a generally uniform layer or bed of absorbent is preferred or better suited fro the application.
