20220168159 · 2022-06-02 ·

A pad for a garment includes a body and capping. The body has a front, a rear and a periphery and includes one or more absorbent layers for absorbing liquid and a gas-permeable barrier overlying the one or more absorbent layers to block the liquid. The capping runs along and caps at least a portion of the periphery to block the liquid. The capping has a front portion overlying the front, a rear portion overlying the rear, and a mounting portion, projecting away from the body, for mounting the pad.

An absorbent article comprising a polymer sheet 4 in which a super absorbent polymer 12 exists between an upper layer sheet 10 arranged on the skin side and a lower layer sheet 11 arranged on the non-skin side is included. A fiber absorber 5 including pulp fiber is disposed adjacent to the surface on the skin side of an area corresponding to a body fluid discharge region H of a wearer in the polymer sheet 4. The super absorbent polymer 12 is not arranged in an area which overlaps with the fiber absorber 5, and is arranged in the other area. The water absorption rate of the absorbent article is not reduced even when water is repeatedly absorbed. Additionally, leakage is prevented, a wearing feeling is not worsened, and the adsorbent article may have a reduction in thickness.

To prevent or suppress roughness of the skin of a wearer by configuring an absorbent article so as to quickly absorb a body fluid into an absorber, for example, configuring a diaper so as to quickly absorb loose stool into an absorber. An absorbent article includes a liquid-holding absorber and a liquid pervious top sheet on a skin-facing surface side of the absorber. An absorbent Q mainly containing glycerin is provided on an intermediate sheet that transfers at least a body fluid that has passed through the top sheet to the absorber.

ABSORBENT CORES COMPRISING FOAM MATERIAL

The present invention relates to absorbent cores for use in absorbent articles, preferably of the disposable personal hygiene type. It discloses absorbent cores comprising a foam layer incorporating a nonwoven fabric and having a top surface and a bottom surface, said foam layer top surface comprising one or more indented compressed portions and one or more raised non-compressed portions. The foam layer has openings extending through the foam and the nonwoven fabric. The absorbent core further comprises, joined to the bottom surface of the foam layer, a nonwoven comprising superabsorbent polymers. Absorbent cores of the present invention provide a fast acquisition of body exudates and a good liquid retention capacity. This is further achieved in a simple and cost-effective way without complex and considerable foam formulation and processing requirements.

A reusable undergarment is disclosed with a multi-layer gusset assembly that is permanently affixed in the undergarment to absorb liquids excreted by a wearer of the undergarment and is reusable after washing. The panty also includes body fabric, elastic trim, and non-wicking hydrophobic thread that is sewn through the trim, which sandwiches the body fabric and gusset assembly. The trim may be a single piece of fabric with a waterproof finish that is folded widthwise to form a hollow channel that redistributes excess liquid at the edge of the gusset assembly without leaking. In some manufacturing processes, a waterproof finish may be applied to the elastic trim, and the edge of the gusset assembly may be positioned offset from a fold-line of the trim when folded widthwise. The shape and positioning of the gusset assembly may be cone-shaped in some embodiments.

WIRELESS LOCATING OF AN INCONTINENCE DETECTION PAD VIA A PATIENT BED

An incontinence detection pad for detecting incontinence events includes a moisture absorbent layer that has non-embossed areas and embossed areas. The non-embossed areas have a first density of fibers of the layer, and the embossed areas have a second density of fibers of the layer that is greater than the first density. The incontinence detection pad further includes a plurality of electrodes positioned beneath the moisture absorbent layer and a transmitter connected to the plurality of electrodes and configured to transmit a signal indicative of a status of the moisture absorbent layer.

Absorbent article with bodyside liner providing a barrier region

An absorbent article can include a bodyside liner that provides a barrier region. The barrier region can be a central portion of the bodyside liner not coupled to the absorbent body. The barrier region can include a first longitudinal side edge and a second longitudinal side edge. The first longitudinal side edge can be coupled to the projection portion of the first containment flap. The second longitudinal side edge can be coupled to the projection portion of the second containment flap. When the absorbent article is in the relaxed configuration and the projection portion of the first containment flap and the projection portion of the second containment flap extend away from the absorbent body, the central portion of the bodyside liner extends away from absorbent body.
