FOLDED ABSORBENT ARTICLE
A folded absorbent article includes an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet. The absorbent article defines, in an unfolded and planar state, a longitudinal center line and a transverse center line. Each transverse side of the absorbent article is folded along a respective longitudinal fold line, such that each of first and second transversely opposed side edges are folded onto a topsheet surface of the absorbent article thereby forming a firstly folded absorbent article. The firstly folded absorbent article is thereafter folded along a first transverse fold line located in the region of the transverse center line thereby forming a secondly folded absorbent article. Finally, the secondly folded absorbent article is folded along a second transverse fold line located approximately in the middle between the transverse center line and a waist edge thereby forming a thirdly folded absorbent article.

Each of the rear lateral sections (22) can be placed around the body of the user in order to close the incontinence diaper (2) and can be brought into overlapping arrangement with a front region (12) exterior, to which the lateral sections can then be removably adhered via the respective closure means (28). The rear lateral sections (22) have an extension (Q) in the transverse direction (10) over the respective rear lateral longitudinal edge (18) and an elastic or elasticized region (42) which extends in the transverse direction (10) and in the longitudinal direction (8). The invention is characterized in that the rear lateral sections (22) are folded together about at least two lateral section folding axes (46, 48) running in the longitudinal direction (8) by the manufacturer, and folded together sub-regions (50, 52, 54) of the rear lateral sections (22) are defined and delimited by means of the lateral section folding axes (46, 48). An outer sub-region (54) in the transverse direction (10) is designed to be substantially unstretchable, and at least 50% of the surface of a sub-region (52) which adjoins the outer sub-region (54) inwards is unstretchable starting from the outer folding axis (48) running in the longitudinal direction.
Incontinence diaper
The invention relates to an incontinence diaper (2) with a main part (4), which comprises a front region (12), a rear region (16) with rear lateral longitudinal edges (18), and a crotch region (20) arranged between the front region and the rear region, and with rear lateral sections (22) which are joined to the rear region (16) on both sides, whereas no lateral sections (22) are joined to the front region (14). In order to position and close the incontinence diaper (2), the rear lateral sections (22) can be brought into overlapping arrangement with a front region (12) exterior, to which the lateral sections can then be removably adhered via respective closure means (28). The rear lateral sections (22) have an elastic or elasticized region (42), and the extension (Q) of the rear lateral sections (22) comprises a proximal half (38) which adjoins the rear longitudinal edge (18) and a freely ending distal half (40) in the transverse direction (10). The invention is characterized in that the respective elastic region (42) of each rear lateral section (22) is arranged completely within the proximal half (38) and extends to the paired rear longitudinal edge (18) or has a distance of maximally 30 mm from the rear longitudinal edge (18) in the transverse direction (10), and each rear lateral section (22) is substantially non-stretchable in the entire distal half (40).
