10267067 · 2019-04-23 · ·

An apparatus for preventing a vehicle door from opening includes an outside handle having a pulling lever which extends from the outside handle into a housing. A release cable protector case is hingedly connected to an upper side of the housing to pivot. A release cable is connected to a lower side of the release cable protector case to be pulled. A handle associated lever includes a rotary shaft which is pivotally attached to a lower side of the housing, a locking lever which extends from the rotary shaft and is in contact with an outer surface of the pulling lever, and a cable-operating lever which is connected to an edge of the locking lever and pulls the release cable. A first return spring surrounds the rotary shaft of the handle-associated lever and has one end fixed to the rotary shaft and another end fixed to the housing.

Latch and release mechanisms for waste containers

A latch is provided for latching and automatically unlatching a lid from a waste container. The latch mechanism includes a release weight that moves responsive to gravity in a housing from a first position to a second position to cause the latch to disengage from a striker when the latch is rotated to a dump angular orientation. The latch includes a damper that controls movement of the release weight in the housing such that an amount of time for the release weight to move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position is at least two times an amount of time the release weight would take to move responsive to gravity from the first position to the second position absent the effect of the damper.

Door handle with removable cap

The invention relates to a door handle (10) for a vehicle door of a motor vehicle, with a removable cover element (11), in particular for covering a lock cylinder (101), wherein the lock cylinder (101) is provided for unlocking and locking a door lock, and wherein the cover element (11) can be transferred between at least two positions (I, II), specifically a covered position (I), in which in particular the lock cylinder (101) is covered by the cover element (11) so as to be inaccessible from the outside, and an open position (II), in which in particular the cylinder lock (101) is uncovered by the cover element (11), and a tension means (12) for actuating the door lock, wherein the tension means (12) can be mechanically operatively connected with the cover element (11) in the open position (II) of the cover element (11), so as to actuate the door lock by pulling on the cover element (11). It is also possible to initially detach the tension means from the cover element, for example by undoing a corresponding connection between the tension means and cover element, such as a form- and/or force fitting connection, clip and/or clamp connection, bayonet connection or the like, and then initiate the opening process directly on the tension means. To this end, the invention proposes that a triggering device (14) be provided for the cover element (11), so as to automatically transfer the cover element (11) into the open position (II), in particular in an emergency situation.

Vehicle panel handle for opening a panel of an automotive vehicle
10113331 · 2018-10-30 · ·

A vehicle panel handle for opening a panel of an automotive vehicle is disclosed. The panel handle includes a handle lever configured to rotate around a first rotation axis between a resting position wherein the panel is closed and an opening position wherein the panel is open, a latch lever configured to rotate around a second rotation axis and to cooperate with the handle lever for opening the panel when the handle lever around the first rotation axis for reaching the opening position, and a counter weight configured for preventing the unwilling rotation of the handle lever. The counter weight has an elongated shape and is configured to rotate around a third rotation axis between an unblocking position in which the latch lever is not prevented from rotating, and a blocking position where the latch lever is preventing from rotating.

VEHICLE DOOR LATCH WITH INERTIAL LOCK
20180291654 · 2018-10-11 ·

A vehicle door includes a latch mechanism having a fork-bolt that is configured to engage a striker and prevent opening of the vehicle door when the latch mechanism is in a latched configuration. The latch mechanism includes a lock mechanism that disconnects an exterior door handle from the latch mechanism when the latch mechanism is locked. The lock mechanism includes a lock lever having a center of mass that is spaced apart from an axis of rotation of the lock lever whereby the lock lever rotates and locks the latch mechanism in the event of a side impact.

INERTIAL LOCK SYSTEMS FOR PUSH-PUSH LATCH STYLE VEHICLE DRAWERS
20180266149 · 2018-09-20 ·

Inertial lock systems for push-push latch style vehicle drawers or storage bins including an inertia lock to maintain a drawer in a closed position under a g-force. A shaft is rotatably mounted on a drawer housing; an inertia member is mounted on the shaft; and a confining member is mounted on the shaft and disposed opposite to the inertia member. The confining member is configured to move to a position to restrict movement of a rotating latch of the drawer when a g-forced applied to the drawer exceeds a predetermined level.

Safety device and case with lid using safety device

A safety device used for a case with a lid, includes a lock pin device having a responding moving member supported in the case, and a lock pin protruding from the responding moving member; a lock member provided on a lid side, and including a cam groove to receive the lock pin; and a spring member. The cam groove includes at least three first portions extending in an opening/closing direction of the lid, having an opening-directional end portion and a closing-directional end portion, and disposed in parallel at a predetermined interval therebetween; and a plurality of second portions connecting the closing-directional end portion of the first portions and intermediate portions of adjacent first portions. A depth of a bottom portion between the first portion and the second portion is different to transfer the lock pin from a first of the first portions to a last of the first portions non-reversibly.

Vehicle door latch with inertial lock

A vehicle door includes a latch mechanism having a fork-bolt that is configured to engage a striker and prevent opening of the vehicle door when the latch mechanism is in a latched configuration. The latch mechanism includes a lock mechanism that disconnects an exterior door handle from the latch mechanism when the latch mechanism is locked. The lock mechanism includes a lock lever having a center of mass that is spaced apart from an axis of rotation of the lock lever whereby the lock lever rotates and locks the latch mechanism in the event of a side impact.

Latch and release mechanisms for waste containers

A latch is usable for latching and automatically unlatching a lid operative to close a bin of a waste container. The latch includes a release weight that is moveable responsive to gravity from a first position to a second position to cause the latch to disengage from a release mechanism when the latch is rotated to one or more angular positions in a dump angular orientation. The latch and release mechanism are held in latched engagement when release slide bolts and latch slide bolts are engaged in extended positions. Movement of the release weight causes the latch slide bolts to move to retracted positions to enable disengagement of the release slide bolts and latch slide bolts. A release knob is operative responsive to manual movement in two different directions to enable the latch and release slide bolts to disengage.

Door latch assembly

A vehicle door latch assembly for maintaining the vehicle door in a closed position including during an angled impact to the door latch of the vehicle.
