LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.

The application relates to a device for, and method of transferring a patient on a bed between a lying position along a bed to a seated position facing the side of a bed. The device comprises an arm hold to allow the patient to clinch the arm hold to his or her chest, thereby enabling the device to transfer the patient between a lying position and a seated position. Preferably, the device further comprises a leg support to assist in transferring the lower portion of the patients body between a lying position and a seated position.
Assistance device for identifying a user of the assistance device from a spoken name
An assistance device that more appropriately identifies a user using speech. The assistance device is provided with a speech detector, a name acquiring section that acquires a name of a person based on speech detected by the speech detector, and a user identifying section that identifies a care receiver who is a user of the assistance device based on the name acquired by the name acquiring device.
MECANUM WHEEL, CHASSIS, AND ASSISTANT ROBOT
Disclosed is a mecanum wheel, including a mecanum wheel body and a drive device. A wheel axle hole is formed in the mecanum wheel body. The drive device is partially or completely arranged in the wheel axle hole. The axis of a connecting shaft of the drive device is collinear with a rotary shaft of the mecanum wheel body, and the mecanum wheel body rotates along with a housing of the drive device. Further disclosed are a mecanum wheel with a shock absorbing device, a chassis including at least one pair of mecanum wheels, and an assistant robot including a chassis.
FALL ARRESTING LIFT MACHINE
A fall arresting lift machine has a gantry upon casters, a power source upon the gantry, a drive with a motor upon the gantry in communication with the power source, a controller in communication with the motor and the power source, a vertical strap paying out from the drive motor, a harness upon the strap, and the harness is suitable for wearing by a user. The gantry includes feet, housings, uprights, elbows, braces, and a union. The harness has straps for over both shoulders of the user and a belt and inertial measurement units upon the straps. The drive and controller cooperate to assist a user to sit and to stand, and to detect abrupt acceleration typical of a fall, and arrest the fall. The casters swivel, or alternately select wheels remain in fixed orientation.
LIFTING, MOBILITY, AND REHABILITATION APPARATUS FOR DISABLED PATIENTS
A mobility device that includes support assemblies that may be secured to feet, legs, thighs, and torso of a user. An exemplary mobility device may further include an actuator that may be coupled with the exemplary support assemblies and may actuate rotational movements of the exemplary support assemblies with respect to each other. Such movement of support assemblies may accordingly move respective limbs of a disabled user. An exemplary mobility device may allow for a user to change position from a lying position to a standing position or from a standing position to a sitting position, which may significantly increase mobility of a disabled user. An exemplary mobility device may further include an exemplary wheeled base that may allow a disabled user to further move around.
TRANSFER DEVICE
Provided is a transfer device capable of moving a care receiver who has difficulty in walking by himself/herself to a desired place in a comfortable posture. The transfer device is capable of moving a care receiver by a care giver. The transfer device includes: a front wheel and a rear wheel; a support body which supports an upper body of the care receiver; a leg guide portion which is brought into contact with lower leg front surfaces of the care receiver and is inclinable frontward from an approximately vertical state; and a foot placing portion on which soles of the care receiver are placed; a rear wheel advancing and retracting mechanism configured to move the rear wheel rearward in an interlocking manner with frontward inclining of the leg guide portion.
PORTABLE PATIENT TURNING DEVICE
A portable patient turning device is provided comprising an inflatable mattress cover having a planar surface configured to substantially cover the surface of a bed, and a control unit connected to the inflatable mattress cover by one or more air hoses. The inflatable mattress cover further comprises a first inflatable chamber proximate to and extending along a left edge of the planar surface, a second inflatable chamber proximate to and extending along a right edge of the planar surface, and a spine cushion positioned between the first inflatable chamber and the second inflatable chamber and extending along a middle portion of the planar surface for at least a portion of the length of the first inflatable chamber and second inflatable chamber.

Patient handling devices for transporting patients in health care settings are disclosed herein. The patient handling devices may include a support member and a torso support member. The patient handling device includes at least one articulating joint that is coupled to the support member and the torso support member. The articulating joint is selectable to arrest or allow articulation of the respective torso support member or the lower extremities support member relative to the support member through a variety of orientations.

In a standing-up motion assist system for assisting a care receiving person, a care belt includes a first holder that holds a neck part or a back part of the care receiving person, a second holder that holds a lumbar part of the care receiving person, a third holder that connects the first holder and the second holder and holds armpits of the care receiving person, a second connector located at a chest of the care receiving person, and a first connector that connects the first holder and the second holder. A pulling mechanism is connected to the second connector and pulls the second connector. A controller controls the pulling mechanism so as to pull the second connector in a forward and upward direction with reference to the care receiving person, and, thereafter, pull the second connector in a backward and upward direction with reference to the care receiving person.
