PRONE ARTICULATED HEADREST
A headrest assembly includes a frame and a plurality of support pads. The plurality of support pads may include a forehead pad, a chin pad, and two zygomatic arch pads. One or more of the plurality of support pads may be adjustable vertically and horizontally relative to the frame through adjustment arms.
PATIENT POSITIONING SYSTEM
A patient positioning system configured for positioning and supporting a patient against movement on an operating table, the positioning system including a pair of arm positioners each configured to be positionable about an arm of the patient when the patient is lying on the operating table, each of the arm positioners provided as a sheet material configured to be wrapped around one of the arms of the patient to position each of the arm positioners to snugly envelope one of the arms and having releasable fasteners to maintain the arm positioners in the wrapped configuration; and an elongate lift sheet configured to extend across the operating table and underneath the back of the patient, the lift sheet being positioned to have opposite ends thereof wrapped over and around the arm protectors and tucked back under the lower back or sacrum of the patient to securely and snugly hold the lift sheet around the arm protectors and restrain the arms of the patient.
LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
SLIDING JAW THRUST DEVICE
A device and method that facilitates performance of a jaw thrust maneuver. A base connected to a rack and pinion mechanism including at least one pinion rotatably attached to the base and at least two racks slidably attached to the base and engaged with the pinion to move in opposite directions upon rotation of at least one pinion. A pair of arms, each pivotably coupled to one of the racks to allow rotational freedom of motion. A patient's head is placed in supine position and a pair of arms slides towards the patient's head in synchrony to position the arms to clear the patient's airways.
HEAD SUPPORT AND METHOD FOR USE OF THE HEAD SUPPORT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO REDUCE BRAIN DAMAGE
A method to improve neurologically-intact survival rates after cardiac arrest may include performing CPR on an individual in cardiac arrest while the individual is in a supine position in general alignment with a horizontal plane. The method may include elevating the individual's head, shoulders, and heart relative to the individual's lower body while the individual's lower body remains generally aligned with the horizontal plane to cause blood to actively drain venous blood from the brain to reduce intracranial pressure. The method may include performing chest compressions on the individual and actively decompressing the individual's chest while the individual's head, shoulders, and heart are elevated.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AN ADJUSTABLE HEAD HOLDER
Various systems are provided for an adjustable tilting head holder. In one example, a system comprises an adjustable tilting head holder for use with an imaging system the adjustable head holder comprising a head cradle, a tilt adjustment mechanism with a plurality of locking positions arranged below a first end of the head cradle, a table mount extending from a second end of the head cradle, and a tilt adjustment bar that extends from the table mount through the tilt adjustment mechanism, wherein the first end and the second end of the head cradle are located at opposite ends of the head cradle.
Traction-Apparatus to Decompress Body's Joints
A traction apparatus develops a pull force through some or all the compressed joints of the ankles, the knees, the hips and the vertebrae of an individual, after the individual attaches to the ankles, or the waist, or the shoulders, a harness connected to suspended weights, and then positions self to rest supine over an inclinable, full length frictionless surface of full-width idler rollers, and inserts self's head's occipital portion into a crescent shaped hollow head restrainer which arrests the body's pull by the weights.
Treatment Positioning Headrest
A treatment positioning headrest is provided. The device includes a headrest base having a front side, a rear side, and a pair of lateral sides extending about a perimeter of an upper side of the headrest base. A planar flange extends from a distal end of each of the front side, rear side, and the pair of lateral sides. A depression is defined in the upper side, wherein the depression is dimensioned to conform to a rear portion of a head. A longitudinal ruler is disposed on each lateral side, wherein each longitudinal ruler comprises a plurality of measurement indicia therealong. In some embodiments, a pair of extensions rise from the rear side of the headrest base, wherein the pair of extensions retain the neck therebetween.
