Orthopedic device and method for lower limb elevation and stabilization
A support device provides elevation and support for a patient's foot, including ankle and heal, and limits lateral and medial rotation of the foot. This protects the knee from injury while healing. The device includes a generally flat main body, two spaced-apart lateral ridges, and a medial depression between the lateral ridges that provides a support surface on which the foot may be positioned. The lateral ridges can extend to a height above the support surface so that inner side surfaces of the lateral ridges are adjacent to a majority of a foot placed in the medial depression. The lateral ridges can terminate below a top of the foot to permit unrestricted ventilation and access to the foot. The lateral ridges can be spaced apart to facilitate placement of a foot onto and removal of the foot from the support surface without manual manipulation of the device.
Boot stirrup having adjustable length boot
A boot stirrup for use with a surgical table is provided. The boot stirrup includes a support arm, a surgical boot, and a lockable joint coupled to the support arm and the surgical boot. The support arm is configured to couple to a surgical table for movement about a plurality of axes relative to the surgical table. The surgical boot is configured to support and/or immobilize the foot and leg of the patient. The lockable joint is configured to selectively permit movement of the surgical boot relative to the support arm.
Instrument image reliability systems and methods
Described herein are systems and methods related to image management. A system may include an instrument that includes an elongate body and an imaging device. The elongate body can be configured to be inserted into a luminal network. The imaging device may be positioned at a distal tip of the elongate body. The system may receive from the imaging device one or more images captured when the elongate body is within the luminal network. For each of the images, the system may determine one or more metrics that are indicative of a reliability of an image for localization of the distal tip of the elongate body within the luminal network. The system may determine a reliability threshold value for each of the one or more metrics. The system can utilize the one or more images based on whether the one or more metrics meet corresponding reliability threshold values.
Fixation apparatus and method for total ankle replacement
A device comprises a base. A support is attached to the base. The support is shaped to receive a calf of a person and adapted to receive a wire or pin for securing a tibia of a person. A foot plate is attachable to the base. The foot plate has a plurality of attached members. The members are configured for receiving at least a first wire or pin to fix a foot of the person relative to the foot plate while the foot plate is oriented normal to a superior-inferior direction of the foot. The foot plate is rotatable relative to the base while the foot plate is attached to the base.
Soft tissue balancing in articular surgery
Systems and methods may be used to perform robot-aided surgery. A system may include a robotic controller to monitor a position and orientation of an end effector coupled to an end of a robotic arm. The robotic controller may apply a force to a bone using the end effector, such as via a soft tissue balancing component. The robotic controller may determine soft tissue balance using information from a tracking system, such as a position of a first tracker affixed to the bone. The soft tissue balance may be output, such as to a display device.
EXTENSION FOOT SLEEVE
An extension foot sleeve is formed with an L-shaped foot-receiving shell having an external adapter block for arranging on an operating table and having quick-release clasps and detent tabs for securing a patient's foot. The foot sleeve makes it possible to easily clamp a patient's foot without turning it in the L-shaped foot-receiving shell and without moving cushioning material laterally, and also reliably prevents an accidental release of the quick-release clasps or undesirable contact between the operating team and same. The quick-release clasps are arranged in pairs to the right and left on side edges of the foot-receiving shell in an edge region of the L angle close to the heel and in an edge region of the upper end of the foot-receiving shell. The extension foot sleeve is associated with clamps having detent tabs on both sides, which can be inserted in parallel into the quick-release clasps.
Medical table with leg support
A patient support apparatus is defined that includes a patient support having one or more pads for supporting a patient's torso and hip in a generally horizontal orientation. At least one, elongated leg support extends from the patient support. The leg support is movable through a generally horizontal plane. A portion of the leg support is declinable and inclinable from the horizontal plane. A traction device is connected to the leg support. The traction device is attachable to a patient's leg and operable to exert a traction force on the patient's leg along an axis of the traction device. The traction device is connected to the leg support by a slide assembly and the traction device can be secured stationary relative to the leg support or the traction device can slide relative to the leg support.
SURGICAL BED, ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL DEVICE, ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL METHOD, AND SYSTEM
A surgical bed includes: a table on which a body part of a subject is placed; a leg holder configured to hold a leg part of the subject; a support member configured to connect the table and the leg holder to each other, and configured to adjustably support a positional relationship between the leg holder and the table; and a processor configured to derive the positional relationship between the leg holder and the table.
LIMB HOLDER ALLOWING DISTAL ACTUATION ALONG NON-LINEAR PATHS OF ACTUATION
An apparatus for supporting and positioning a patient's leg during a surgical procedure includes a substantially rigid, non-linear support structure comprising a distal segment and a proximal segment. The apparatus further includes a proximal locking swivel joint and an actuation handle. The proximal locking swivel joint is coupled to the proximal segment of the support structure and holds the support structure in a plurality of positions. The actuation handle is connected to the distal segment of the support structure and coupled to the proximal locking swivel joint. Activation of the actuation handle results in release of the proximal locking swivel joint, thereby allowing repositioning of the support structure into a plurality of positions.
DUAL-PURPOSE TREATMENT TABLE
The present invention relates to treatment tables, and more specifically to a treatment table that is adaptable for the dual purposes of conducting therapy or physical examinations, including pelvic examinations and treatment.
