COMPRESSION APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR CIRCULATORY DISORDERS
A garment for providing circulatory system disorder therapy includes a skin contacting layer, a backing layer, and a coupling. The backing layer is coupled to the skin contacting layer such that the skin contacting layer and the backing layer form a plurality of macro-chambers. A first one of the plurality of macro-chambers is partitioned into a plurality of micro-chambers. Each of the plurality of micro-chambers is in direct fluid communication with at least one other of the plurality of micro-chambers. The coupling is coupled to the backing layer and is configured to supply pressurized air directly into the first macro-chamber such that the pressurized air is delivered to a first one of the plurality of micro-chambers of the first macro-chamber.
Erectile Dysfunction Assistance Device
An erectile dysfunction assistance device is an apparatus that supports the entry of a flaccid penis of a user into an orifice of a participant by widening the opening of the orifice of the participant. The apparatus includes a tubular brace, a domed insert, and a flange. The tubular brace supports the shaft of the flaccid penis and widens the orifice for the flaccid penis to be comfortably positioned within the orifice. The domed insert widens the opening of the orifice and supports the head of the penis into and within the orifice. The flange stops the tubular brace from entirely slipping past the opening of the orifice and allows a user to grasp the present invention while positioned within the orifice and around the flaccid penis. The tubular brace, the domed insert, and the flange are separable along the length of the flaccid penis for painless and easy removal.
INTELLIGENT COMPRESSION WRAP
An intelligent compression device for controllable compression. The compression device includes a compressible body and a microprocessor. The compressible body encircles a limb of a user and includes an elastomer layer and an activation layer. The elastomer layer includes voxelated liquid crystal elastomers that contract in response to a stimulus. The activation element, which is positioned proximate to the elastomer layer, supplies the stimulus. The microprocessor actuates at least a portion of the activation element layer.

An actuator unit of the present invention includes upper and lower frames respectively connectable to a thigh frame and a lower leg frame, an actuator-side rotational connecting part connecting both frames in a rotatable manner around a pivot axis, a driver producing driving force for rotating the lower frame around the pivot axis, upper and lower connecting bodies respectively connecting the upper frame to the thigh frame and the lower frame to the lower leg frame, and an intermediate connecting body connecting the vicinity of the actuator-side rotational connecting part to the vicinity of a brace-side rotational connecting part, the intermediate connecting body having a ball stud and an accommodation depression respectively provided on one and the other of the knee-ankle-foot orthosis and the actuator unit.

A thermal pack for use with a device for circulating hot or cold fluid, the thermal pack including: a body having a cavity; a bendable and deformable support one of attached to or disposed within the body, the support being configured such that the body is deformed into a shape matching a contour of a body part and the body is maintained in the shape while applied to the body part by the support; and tubing having one end in fluid communication with the cavity and another end in fluid communication with the device such that the device circulates a hot or cold fluid through the cavity via the tubing.

An actuator unit of the present invention includes upper and lower frames respectively connectable to a thigh frame and a lower leg frame, an actuator-side rotational connecting part connecting both frames in a rotatable manner around a pivot axis, a driver producing driving force for rotating the lower frame around the pivot axis, upper and lower connecting bodies respectively connecting the upper frame to the thigh frame and the lower frame to the lower leg frame, and an intermediate connecting body connecting the vicinity of the actuator-side rotational connecting part to the vicinity of a brace-side rotational connecting part, the intermediate connecting body having a ball stud and an accommodation depression respectively provided on one and the other of the knee-ankle-foot orthosis and the actuator unit.
Fluid-driven actuator and its applications
A fluid-driven actuator 100 includes a bending actuator 200 including a first wall portion 201, a second wall portion 203 cooperating with the first wall portion 201 to define an undulating actuator profile. The bending actuator 200 also includes an inner fluid bladder 202 disposed between the first and second wall portions 201,203 and following the undulating actuator profile. The fluid-driven actuator 100 further includes a restraint member 300 arranged to cooperate with the bending actuator 200 to produce a plurality of motions in response to fluid supplied to the inner fluid bladder 202.
