The applicator is electrically coupled to the power controller and a surface of the applicator transmits ultrasound to a wearer for a given duration. The applicator includes radio frequency (RF) drive electronics, an ultrasound transducer coupled to the drive electronics, a monitoring apparatus that includes a thermal cutoff coupled to the drive electronics, where the monitoring apparatus monitors a temperature of the applicator surface and the thermal cutoff turns off the applicator, if the temperature exceeds a pre-defined threshold, and a coupling bandage coupled to the applicator, where the bandage positions the surface of the applicator proximate to a wearer at a location on the body of a wearer.
Method and apparatus for providing economical, portable deficit-adjusted adaptive assistance during movement phases of an impaired ankle
A method is described for providing deficit-adjusted adaptive assistance during movement phases of an impaired ankle. The method includes determining, on the processor, a value for a deficit parameter for each movement phase of a compound ankle function based on a difference between a parameter trace for a normal subject and the parameter trace for an impaired subject. The method further includes determining, on the processor, an adaptive magnitude for the robot-applied torque based on the value for the deficit parameter. The method further includes applying, to the robot joint, the adaptive magnitude for the robot-applied torque in only a first plane for the current movement phase, based on an adaptive timing. An apparatus is also described for providing deficit-adjusted adaptive assistance during movement phases of the impaired ankle.
Apparatuses and methods for disrupting and preventing snore
Apparatuses and methods for snore disrupting and prevention are disclosed. One apparatus includes: an inflatable bladder assembly configured to inflate and deflate to move a head of a user; a conduit connected to the bladder assembly and configured to extend at a distance from the bladder assembly; an air inflator connected to the conduit for inflating the bladder assembly through the conduit, the air inflator being at the distance from the bladder assembly when in use to minimize noise, radiation or discomfort for the user a controller in communication with the air inflator to actuate the air inflator to inflate the bladder assembly; and an audio processor in communication with the controller, the audio processor being configured to detect sound waves and transmit control commands to the controller to trigger cyclical actuation of the air inflator upon a trigger event.
Assisting a CPR treatment
A system for assisting with a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) treatment being administered to a patient. In one aspect, a system for assisting with a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) treatment being administered to a patient includes a sensor for determining a parameter of the patient (e.g., indicative of a blood flow or pressure waveform), and one or more processors configured for receiving input from the sensor, determining, based on the input from the sensor, whether a rate of chest compressions administered in the CPR treatment should be changed, and providing an indication to a user that the rate of chest compressions should be changed.
VIBRATING FOOTWEAR DEVICE AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM FOR USE THEREWITH
Methods of enhancing a sensory experience to simulate a live event are provided. One includes providing an audible signal representing sound information; generating a vibration signal based on the audible signal and enhanced information that would be present at the live event; and providing the vibration signal to at least one vibration device for stimulating nerve receptors in a foot area, the vibration signal synchronized with the audible signal to produce a perception in the brain of being present at the live event. Another method includes generating a vibration signal representing vibrations including tactile vibrations for stimulating nerve receptors in a foot to simulate being present at a live event, and vibrations based on reproduced sound information; and providing the signal to at least one vibration device for delivering the vibrations to the feet, the tactile vibrations based on enhanced information different from the sound information and including non-audible elements.
BED WITH VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY SYSTEM
A bed with a vibroacoustic therapy system that combines the relaxation power of body sonic energy massage, soothing low-frequency sound waves, and the healing power of users' favorite music to deliver the ultimate in stress reduction, pain relief, increases of circulation and mobility for the users. The bed includes a frame structure; a plurality of platforms disposed on the frame structure; and one or more massage devices spatial-separately installed on the plurality of platforms. The one or more massage devices comprises sonic vibrators or music based vibrators. The one or more massage devices are operable individually or cooperatively with a remote control, and/or a smart mobile device.
Pelvis fixing device and motion assistance apparatus including the same
Provided is a pelvis fixing device including a rear fixing module including a driving module mounting portion, the rear fixing portion configured to enclose a side surface and a rear surface of a waist of a user, and a front fixing module including a soft layer and a hard layer configured to enclose a front surface of the waist of the user, wherein the hard layer is connected to the rear fixing module to form a closed loop around the waist of the user.
Wearable devices, systems, methods and architectures for sensory stimulation and manipulation and physiological data acquisition
A garment with prepositioned, definite sensory stimulating devices attached. These sensory stimulating devices include, but are not limited to, electrical stimulation, audio and physical stimulation such as localised force generation, compression, constriction, vibration, and surround sound. Predetermined and defined actuators allow the wearer to receive tissue, nerve and/or muscle stimulation and/or contraction so that the stimulation is precise as determined by its ability to conform to the scientific methodology of repeatability, reproducibility and reliability; this being due to consistency of actuator positioning in one or multiple locals on the human body. A personal surround sound can also be integrated to the garment to ensure the wearer is always in the optimal position relative the speakers. These actuators can be force generators within the garment for the wearer to feel impact or apparatus or electrodes included in the garment to locally constrict and increase pressure on the wearer.
ECG rhythm advisory method
A defibrillator for guiding a rescuer based on a probability of defibrillation success includes at least one output device and a processor and associated memory, the processor being configured to receive at least two ECG signals over time for a cardiac arrest victim, the at least two ECG signals including at least a first ECG signal at a first point in time and a second ECG signal at a second point in time, process the at least two ECG signals to determine at least two parameters related to the at least two ECG signals, the at least two parameters forming a sequence of parameter sets, analyze a trajectory of the sequence of parameter sets, determine the probability of defibrillation success based on the analysis of the trajectory, and control the at least one output device to provide one or more caregiver prompts based on the probability of defibrillation success.
System and Method for Dynamic Device Discovery and Address Assignment
A pool or spa system includes networked pool or spa devices that can be dynamically configured with network addresses by a controller. The controller can transmit a device discovery request on a network and can receive a discovery response from pool or spa devices that require a network address. The system determines and assigns the network addresses for the pool or spa devices based on unique device identifiers associated with the responding pool or spa devices. The network addresses assigned to the pool or spa device are transmitted to the pool or spa device to be used by the pool or spa devices to communicate with the controller over the network. The system can be used to discover and assign addresses to various types of pool or spa devices, such as pumps, underwater lights, chlorinators, water feature controllers, remote controllers, and/or other types of devices.
