Compression Belt Assembly for a Chest Compression Device
A chest compression device with a chest compression belt assembly including guards and sensors operable with a control system to control operation of the system depending on detection of proper installation of the guards.
CONVERTIBLE TELEPRESENCE ROBOT
The material contained in this disclosure pertains to robotics related to convertible robots incorporating telecommunication elements. Embodiments of the system and apparatuses described can facilitate instant communication with family and friends, health status monitoring and support from caregivers; and promote optimal health, longevity, and independent living by providing high-tech economical solutions at each stage of the aging process. Embodiments of the system and apparatuses may be converted from an independent telecommunications robot, to a robotic walker, to a robotic wheelchair.
Methods and systems for wireless communication with a subcutaneous medical device
An exemplary subcutaneous medical device implanted within a patient uses a coil-less magnetic field sensor included within the subcutaneous medical device to detect a toggling sequence between a presence and an absence of an externally-generated static magnetic field. The toggling sequence is representative of a digital data stream according to a digital wireless communication protocol. The subcutaneous medical device identifies, based on the detected toggling sequence and in accordance with the digital wireless communication protocol, a multi-bit command encoded within the digital data stream represented by the toggling sequence. The subcutaneous medical device further performs, in response to the identifying of the multi-bit command, an action associated with the multi-bit command. Corresponding methods and a corresponding external controller are also disclosed.
Combination Internal and External Sexual Stimulation Device
A sexual stimulation device comprising: (a) an elongate member comprising a proximal end, and a distal end dimensioned for placement in an orifice of a user; (b) an external stimulation arm comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and an external stimulation surface; and (c) a flexible connecting portion that connects the elongate member to the external stimulation arm at their respective proximal ends; wherein the flexible connecting portion permits movement of the external stimulation arm relative to the elongate member between an open position and a compressed position.
DRIVING CONTROL OF A RECIPROCATING CPR APPARATUS
The disclosed mechanical cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) apparatuses, systems, and devices have a plunger and a plunger displace sensor that can sense plunger displacement information during reciprocating cycles of the plunger. The disclosure CPR apparatuses, systems, and devices also have a microprocessor unit that can receive sensed plunger displacement information from the sensor and generate plunger driving instructions based on the plunger displacement information. The plunger driving instructions have one or both of a plunger driving force and a plunger amplitude for the reciprocating cycles.
AN ACTUATOR FOR AN EXOSKELETON
An actuator for an exoskeleton can include a motor and a spring. The motor can include a housing and shaft. A first end of the spring can be coupled to one of the shaft or housing. A second end of the spring can be free when the shaft is in a first range of rotation of the shaft relative to the housing. The second end of the spring can be constrained by the other one of the shaft or housing when the shaft is in a second range of rotation of the shaft relative to the housing. When the shaft is in the first range of rotation, the motor can provide a motor resistive torque between the shaft and the housing, and when the shaft is in the second range of rotation, the spring can provide a spring resistive torque between the shaft and the housing.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING AND USING A KNEE RANGE OF MOTION DEVICE
The described knee rehabilitation device can include any suitable component. In some implementations, however, it includes a sitting surface that is configured to support a user; a knee arm that comprises a leg coupling mechanism, that is pivotally coupled to the rehabilitation device, and that is configured to pivot through a range of motion; and a drive mechanism that is configured to force the knee arm through the range of motion. In some cases, the drive mechanism includes a first hard stop that prevents the knee arm from extending past a first set point, and the drive mechanism further includes a second hard stop that prevents the knee arm from being retracted past a second set point. In some cases, the device is further configured to be programmed to electronically limit the knee arm's range of motion. Other implementations are discussed.
CPR compression device with cooling system and battery removal detection
A CPR chest compression device with a cooling exhaust flow path configured to direct cooling air flow through the device. A CPR chest compression device with a battery retainer interoperable with the control system to provide for controlled shut-down when an operator attempts to remove the battery during operation.
Powered Handle Bar Apparatus for Staircase, Ramp or Level Walk Area Walking Assistance for Challenged Individuals
An indoor, electrically powered, and motorized handlebar structure that provides forward moving or stationary stability for mobility-challenged individuals includes a trolley support bar, a handle, a handle operating system, a control box, a drive assembly, an access control reader, at least one accessory, and a power source. The trolley support bar is mounted on to a solid surface area that can be a wall surface or a floor surface as the handle is operatively coupled to the trolley support bar by the drive assembly. The control box is terminally connected to the trolley support bar and house the access control reader, the at least one accessory, and the power source. The drive assembly, the access control reader, and the at least one accessory are electrically connected to the power source through the handle operating system so that handle can move between a forward direction and a backward direction.
Compression belt assembly for a chest compression device
A chest compression device with a chest compression belt assembly including guards and sensors operable with a control system to control operation of the system depending on detection of proper installation of the guards.
