Medical delivery device with regimen identification feature
A drug delivery system comprising a controller adapted to detect when a given user-actuated operation being part of the expelling of an amount of drug is performed, record detected operations as a function of time, and estimate, based on recorded operations, time parameters for the detected operations, thereby providing time parameters for a medical regimen on which the detected operations are assumed to be based upon.
Apparatus and associated methods for tracking and increasing medication adherence for patients
A medication container comprises a body portion and a grid coupled to the body portion. The grid and the tray each comprise a corresponding number of wells configured to contain medication. The tray is configured to be inserted into and removed from the body portion, above the grid. The tray may be configured to be connected to and disconnected from the grid, when the tray is inserted into the body portion. The wells of the grid may be configured to be manually loaded with medication by a user and the wells of the tray may be configured to be received by the user loaded with medication in accordance with a medication regimen. The first wells may be integral with the grid and the second wells may be integral with the tray.
PILL CASE
A pill case (100) includes a pocket (9) which receives one pill (10) from an accommodation unit (8) in which a plurality of pills (10) are accommodated, and an extraction port (11) for ejecting the pill (10) in the pocket (9) to the outside. The pill case (100) includes a manipulation unit (for example, pill ejection button (4) and pill tray (5)) which converts a state in which the pill (10) in the pocket (9) cannot be ejected through the extraction port (11) to a state in which the pill (10) in the pocket (9) can be ejected through the extraction port (11) by being manipulated by a user. The pill case (100) includes a moving unit which is moved by indirectly or directly receiving a pressure from the pill (10) in the pocket (9) according to the moving manipulation to the manipulation unit, and a detection unit which detects that the moving unit is moved up to a position of the moving unit which corresponds to a state in which the pill (10) in the pocket (9) can be ejected.
System, method, and module for integrated medication management
Systems, methods, and modules providing integrated medication management utilizing a medication management module. The module comprises cartridge slots, a pill extractor, a pill dispenser, and processors. The method includes receiving patient data of a patient, storing the patient data, and determining a presence of pill cartridges and pills. The module scans a cartridge label corresponding to the patient and the pills and authenticates the cartridges based on the patient data and the pills. The system determines, in response to authenticating, a medication regimen based on the patient data and pills and extracts pills from the pill cartridges. The module ensures verifying a correct extraction of pills and dispensing the pills at a predetermined time in a predetermined amount based on the medication plan. The module verifies a correct dispensing of pills at the predetermined time in the predetermined amount.
PERSONAL PRESCRIPTION DISPENSER
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transporting and dispensing medications for a patient according to a medication schedule for the patient. A smart container from a pharmacy is received at the patient's site and the container is checked to make sure that the container was delivered to the correct patient site. The smart container contains a memory device that contains identification information of the patient, dosage and treatment instructions for the patient. This information and the medication were checked for compatibility before the smart container was delivered. The identity of the patient at the patient's site is then checked and the patient performs on or more biometric tests before the medication is dispensed by the smart container. Upon taking the medication and providing video proof thereof, the smart container is returned to the pharmacy.
MEDICATION DISPENSING SYSTEM
A medication dispensing system is provided with several cooperating components which help to accommodate the responsible handling of medications. These systems include a user interface to receive input from the user and to present appropriate information/notices/alarms. Further, physical controls and multiple sensors are provided to detect tampering, misuse, and attempts to inappropriately access medications contained within the dispensing system. This misuse can thus be detected, and appropriate notifications can be provided, where appropriate. Further, by adding network communications capabilities, notices can be widely communicated to others, and operation of the medication dispensing system can be controlled and/or monitored remotely.
PERSONALIZED DIETARY SUPPLEMENT DISPENSING DEVICE
A dispenser can include: an optional water source inlet; a plurality of supplement cartridges including a supplement composition; at least one dispenser fluidly coupled with the optional water source inlet and plurality of supplement cartridges; a formulation mechanism operably coupled with the optional water source inlet and supplement cartridges, wherein the formulation mechanism is configured for regulating fluid flow from the optional water source inlet and the supplement cartridges to the dispenser; an input device configured to receive input from a user; and a dispenser controller. The dispenser controller can be configured to: receive identification information from a user via the input device; obtain a supplement dosage formulation for the user based on a personalized supplement protocol; and control dispensing of water and supplement composition(s) to provide the supplement dosage formulation to the user.
CONNECTED MEDICATION DISPENSER
Apparatus and associated software and methods for improving medication adherence. A connected medication dispenser includes a robotic arm adapted to deliver a prescribed medication dose to a patient in their home, and software and sensors that analyze the patient's compliance, communicate with external health sensors to monitor the patient's response to the dose, and communicate with external servers to send the result of providing the medication dose to the patient. In an illustrative example, the patient may be a chronic, acute, or terminal illness patient, and the results may be communicated with physicians, payers, caregivers, a pharmacy, and/or the patient's electronic health record. The flow of information may allow the physician or caregiver to offer real-time adjustments to the medication type, dose, and schedule to provide improved therapeutic outcomes.

Medicine container cover
A cover for a medicine container is provided. The cover contains a deactivating material within it which can, upon release into a medicine container, deactivate and/or destroy a medicine within the container. The cover may have an automated release mechanism which controls release of the deactivating material into the medicine container.
