Pramoxine compositions
The invention provides a topical o/w emulsion which moisturizes, and protects, repairs or restores the skin lipid barrier of a mammal. The topical o/w emulsion composition comprises: a) a discontinuous oil phase; b) a continuous aqueous phase comprising water; c) a thickening agent; d) at least one lamellar membrane structure comprising (i) a phospholipid, (ii) a fatty alcohol, and (iii) a fatty acid; e) a pharmaceutically acceptable active agent; and f) optionally a dermatologically acceptable excipient. In one embodiment, the composition, in use, has a water vapor transmission rate of less than or about 75 g.Math.m.sup.−2.Math.hr.sup.−1 measured in vitro using the modWVTR test methodology.
Compositions and methods for regulating the endocannabinoid system
Compositions comprising select meroterpenes and a linoleic component and the use thereof in regulating the endocannabinoid system (ECS), especially in controlling and/or reducing the levels of cortisol: thereby having a stress reducing or inhibition effect.
APPARATUS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR LOW ENERGY PROCESSING OF CONSUMER PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS; FORMULATIONS OF THE SAME
Embodiments described herein relate generally to apparatus, methods and systems for low energy processing of consumer personal hygiene products (PHPs) and formulations of the same. In some embodiments, a method of manufacturing a consumer PHP comprises combining a first material and second material at room temperature to form a first mixture, mixing the first mixture at room temperature, adding a third material at room temperature to form a second mixture; mixing the second mixture at room temperature, adding a fourth material at room temperature to form a third mixture; and mixing the third mixture at room temperature. In some embodiments, the third material and the fourth material can be mixed to form the second mixture and the first mixture and second mixture can be combined to form the third mixture. In some embodiments, the mixing can be accomplished using a propeller mixer. In some embodiments, the propeller mixer can be rotated at a speed of greater than about 200 rpm during at least one of the mixing steps. In some embodiments, the pH of the third mixture can be adjusted to between about 4.5 and about 6.5 using an acidifier. In some embodiments, the viscosity of the third mixture can be adjusted to between about 100 cP and about 25,000 cP using a thickener.
SURFACE-TREATED MAGNESIUM OR CALCIUM ION-CONTAINING MATERIALS AS WHITE PIGMENTS IN ORAL CARE COMPOSITIONS
The present application is related to cancer immunotherapy, e.g. stimulation of T cell mediated anti-tumor therapy. Accordingly, described herein are methods of inducing or enhancing an adaptive immune response to a cancer in a subject and methods of treating cancer in a subject. In some embodiments, the methods hyperactivate dendritic cells (DCs), which induce T helper type I (TH1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses in the absence of TH2 immunity.
Compositions for long-lasting moisturizing cosmetic formulation comprising Ucuuba butter with high concentration of myristic acid, as well as the use of said formulation for the preparation of a highly moisturizing cosmetic product and kit
The present invention relates to cosmetic formulations with a high moisturizing power comprising, as active principle, ucuuba (Virola surinamensis) butter comprising myristic acid in high concentration, more particularly in a concentration equal to or greater than 70% of the constitution of said butter. Additionally, the invention relates to products comprising such cosmetic formulations, as well as to the use of ucuuba butter for the preparation of a differentiated cosmetic product with high skin moisturizing power, as will be demonstrated in the present patent application.
