CERAMIDE DISPERSION COMPOSITION
There is provided a method for stably dispersing a naturally occurring free ceramide (in particular, a naturally occurring human-type free ceramide) containing a long-chain fatty acid in the ceramide skeleton in an aqueous phase. More specifically, provided is a ceramide dispersion composition comprising a naturally occurring free ceramide, a nonionic surfactant, a phospholipid, and a C.sub.2-6 diol, the mass ratio of the naturally occurring free ceramide to the diol being 1:3 to 25, the naturally occurring free ceramide comprising a free ceramide that contains a fatty acid having 20 or more carbon atoms in the ceramide skeleton thereof.
THERMORESPONSIVE OIL-IN-WATER NANOEMULSION
The present disclosure relates to thermoresponsive oil-in-water nanoemulsions that include: (a) one or more amphiphilic triblock copolymers; (b) one or more oils in the form of nanoemulsion droplets having an average size of about 20 nm to about 500 nm; (c) about 5 to about 40 wt. % of one or more surfactants; (d) one or more nonionic co¬ surfactants; and (e) water, wherein the nonemulsion undergoes a sol-to-gel transition at about 20° C. to about 50° C. One or more lipophilic active ingredients and/or one or more hydrophilic active ingredients may be incorporated into the nanoemulsions. The nanoemulsions are particularly useful for medical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications.
Products containing charged polymer complex microcapsules and method of use
In one aspect, the invention provides a method for treating a protein-containing surface, including applying to the surface a microcapsule suspension including droplets of a dispersed water-immiscible core phase, an aqueous continuous phase, and a wall surrounding each core phase droplet, the wall including the salt formed from at least one amphiphilic Lewis acid reactant or amphiphilic Lewis base reactant, and at least one corresponding Lewis base reactant or Lewis acid reactant.
Cyclic Amide Initialized Polyetheramine and Uses Thereof
The present disclosure provides a polyetheramine produced from a cyclic amide initiator which is first alkoxylated and then reductively aminated to form the polyetheramine. The polyetheramine of the present disclosure may be used in a variety of applications, such as a raw material in the synthesis of a dispersant for use in an aqueous pigment dispersion or as a fuel additive in a hydrocarbon fuel composition.
HAIR TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING AMINO ACIDS
The disclosure relates to compositions comprising (a) at least one negatively charged amino acid and a derivative thereof, (b) at least one positively charged amino acid and a derivative thereof, (c) at least one silicone copolymer, and (d) at least one emulsifier. The disclosure also relates to packaging systems and kits comprising the compositions, and methods of using the compositions.
Freeze dried active composition and a system for using the same
Freeze dried active compositions are described. The compositions comprise less than 6.5% by weight water and they may be hydrated or added to end use compositions in order to yield compositions for delivering superior topical benefits to consumers.
Dual Phase Mouthwash Compositions
The present invention provides a packaged mouthwash composition, the mouthwash composition comprising an aqueous phase and an oil phase; wherein the mouthwash composition is contained within a container, the aqueous phase being present as a first bulk layer and the oil phase being present as a second bulk layer, the first and second bulk layers being in contact with one another at an interface, with one of said layers being disposed on top of the other of said layers in the container; and wherein the mouthwash composition comprises a silicone oil.
Liquids having oil-in-water self-emulsifying properties, compositions, uses and methods relating to same
The present disclosure provides an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier comprising esters of polyglycerol-6 and of fatty acids, and of polyglycerol-X, wherein X is any one of 4, 5 and 7 to 12 and of fatty acids, wherein the fatty acids are liquid fatty acids having a purity of at least 85% w/w, wherein the polyglycerols have a purity of at least 60% w/w, and wherein the emulsifier can form a stable O/W emulsion for at least 1 week at about 50° C. It also provides a method for making the emulsifier and emulsions comprising the emulsifier.
WATER-SOLUBLE REFILL DOSE ARTICLE ENCLOSING A CONCENTRATED CLEANSER COMPOSITION AND KITS HAVING SAME
Water-soluble refill dose articles for forming a cleanser have a water-soluble film defining a first compartment enclosing a first composition and a second compartment enclosing a second composition, which are individual separate articles or are part of an integral article. The first composition has a rheology modifier, a first surfactant, 10% or less by weight water, 20% or less by weight glycol, and the first surfactant does not activate the rheology modifier. The second compartment has an alkaline substance that when mixed with the first composition and water activates the rheology modifier to increase the viscosity of a resulting cleanser and 10% or less by weight water. When the article is diluted in water at a 1:1 to 1:20 ratio, it produces a cleanser having a viscosity within a range of 2000 cps to 50,000 cps.
TOPICAL FORMULATION
The invention described herein provides topical formulations that can be prepared at ambient temperature without the need for any heating step during preparation. Thus the formulations are particularly suitable for cosmetic and pharmaceutical active ingredients that are relatively heat sensitive. The invention also provides methods for preparing the same.
