A hair care formulation is provided, comprising: a dermatologically acceptable vehicle; a dermatologically acceptable silicone; and a deposition aid polymer, wherein the deposition aid polymer is a branched chain cationic dextran polymer, comprising a dextran polymer functionalized with quaternary ammonium groups; wherein the dextran polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 to 650,000 Daltons; and wherein the deposition aid polymer enhances deposition of silicone from the hair care formulation onto mammalian hair.

A hair cleanser is provided, comprising: a dermatologically acceptable vehicle; a dermatologically acceptable hair care cleansing surfactant; a dermatologically acceptable silicone; and a deposition aid polymer, wherein the deposition aid polymer is a dextran polymer crosslinked with a dextran crosslinking agent of formula (I)

wherein X is a halogen; wherein each R.sup.1 is independently selected from a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-6 alkyl group; wherein each R.sup.2 is independently selected from the group consisting of a C.sub.1-6 alkanediyl group; wherein Y is a divalent bridging group; and wherein the deposition aid polymer enhances deposition of the dermatologically acceptable silicone from the hair cleanser onto mammalian hair.

A method and a kit-of-parts are provided for dyeing keratinous material. The method includes applying a first agent to the keratinous material and applying an second agent to the keratinous material. The first agent includes at least one organic silicon compound. The second agent comprises at least one colorant compound and at least one film-forming polymer. The colorant compound includes at least one effect pigment including a substrate platelet including synthetic mica. The colorant compound further includes a coating including at least a first metal oxide (hydrate) layer.

METHOD FOR DYEING KERATIN MATERIAL, COMPRISING THE USE OF AN ORGANIC C1-C6 ALKOXY SILANE AND AN ACIDIFIER

A process for dyeing or coloring keratin material, in particular human hair, using a C.sub.1-C.sub.6 organic alkoxysilane and an acidifying agent, is disclosed. The process comprises applying on the keratinous material a first composition (A), and a second composition (B). The first composition (A) comprises (A1) one or more organic C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkoxysilanes and/or condensation products thereof, and (A2) at least one colorant compound selected from the group of pigments and direct dyes. The second composition (B) comprises (B1) at least one acidifying agent. A kit-of-parts for use in carrying out the process is also disclosed.
