Hair styling compositions including about 5 wt. % or more of hydrogenated starch hydrolysate; about 3 wt. % or more of polyol, wherein a weight ratio of the total amount of hydrogenated starch hydrolysate to the total amount of polyol is from 1:1 to 10:1; about 1 to about 10 wt. % of a plant or vegetable based oil, wherein the plant or vegetable based oil comprise shea butter, castor oil, or a combination thereof; about 0.1 to about 7 wt. % of a cationic surfactant; about 0.5 to about 10 wt. % of emulsifiers are chosen from a glyceryl ester, a fatty alcohol, and a combination thereof; and water, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the hair styling composition. Methods for styling hair using the hair styling compositions are also disclosed herein.

The present application provides hair growth compositions, and more particularly compositions comprising Portulaca Oleracea, or an extract thereof, which may be useful in methods of treating hair loss and/or restoring hair color in a subject. Methods of treating hair loss and kits comprising the compositions are also provided.

The present application discloses dual-function starch-based composite nanoparticles as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The preparation method comprises: hydrolyzing starch to form linear dextrin, grading the linear dextrin by using an alcohol-alcohol gradient precipitation method to obtain linear dextrin having homogeneous molecular weight distribution; oxidizing the linear dextrin by adopting an oxidation system to obtain oxidized dextrin; carrying out complex reaction on the oxidized dextrin and curcumin to form an oxidized dextrin-curcumin complex; and forming an oxidized dextrin-curcumin/chitosan hydrochloride composite nanoparticles from the oxidized dextrin-curcumin complex and chitosan hydrochloride. The aqueous phase solution of the dual-function starch-based composite nanoparticles containing gel polysaccharide is uniformly mixed with primary emulsion, calcium ion induction is carried out on the obtained double emulsion to obtain double-emulsion gel.

Described herein is a hair care composition including from about 0.01% to about 20% of a lipid being one or more unsaturated fatty materials chosen from unsaturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty alcohols, and mixtures thereof. The unsaturated fatty material has a Log P of less than 8. The hair care composition also includes from about 0.01% to about 10% of a fatty acid monoester of a polyol, a saturated fatty alcohol, an ester of a saturated fatty alcohol, and mixtures thereof. The molecule of the fatty acid component of the fatty acid monoester includes a linear or a branched carbon chain with 10 to 22 carbon atoms. The fatty acid monoester of a polyol has a log P of less than 8. The molecule of the fatty alcohol includes a linear or branched carbon chain with 8 to 22 carbon atoms. The hair care composition also includes a non-aqueous volatile solvent.

This disclosure provides a spray type cosmetic composition comprising hydroxypropyl starch (HPS) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). In more detail, this disclosure provides a spray-type cosmetic composition for makeup fixer, comprising HPS and PVP, which has excellent properties such as makeup maintaining ability, spraying power, and less stickiness at the same time.

A solid state, oil gel composition for keratinous substance, such as skin, contains (a) at least one fatty acid-based gelling agent; (b) at least one polysaccharide fatty acid ester; and (c) at least one oil. An embodiment according to the present invention provides improved storage stability, morphological stability, and application property.

A hair conditioning composition that is silicone free is described. The composition includes a fatty acid ester, a cationic surfactant and optional high melting fatty compound, an optional organic acid, an optional cationic polymer, an optional zwitterionic compound and an optional antidandruff compound.
