Compositions and methods for UV-curable cosmetic nail coatings
The present disclosure relates generally to compositions for natural and artificial nail coatings, and particularly, but not by way of limitation, to polymerizable compositions that provide improved adhesion-promoting and improved solvent-susceptibility.
Fluoride releasing dental composition and dental appliance
A fluoride-releasing dental composition includes a polymeric compound selected from (meth)acrylate polymers, (meth)acrylate copolymers, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers, and mixtures and combinations thereof; and a cariostatically effective amount of a fluoride compound. A dental appliance made from the fluoride-releasing dental composition.
DISSOLVABLE SOLID ARTICLE CONTAINING PRESERVATIVES
A dissolvable solid article, comprising: water soluble polymer; a surfactant; at least one selected from diaminocarboxylic acid chelants and salts thereof; at least one selected from aromatic carboxylic acids and salts thereof; a phenolic derivative; at least one selected from α, β-unsaturated Aliphatic Carboxylic Acids, salts, and derivatives thereof; at least one selected from non-aromatic organic alpha hydroxy acids and salts thereof; wherein the dissolvable solid article has a pH of from about 3 to about 5.5 when dissolved with 20 parts water to 1 part of the dissolvable solid article. The present invention provides dissolvable solid articles which provide preservative efficacy even after dissolution of the articles, while controlling the concentrations of preservative ingredients in the solid articles.
Process for treating keratin substances using a composition comprising a modified photo-dimerizable polymer
The present invention relates to a general process for treating keratin substances, preferably keratin fibres, comprising the following steps: c) applying to the keratin substances a composition comprising at least one photo-crosslinkable polymer including at least one photo-dimerizable pendant group and at least one hydrophobic pendant group, and d) irradiating said composition on the keratin substances to crosslink the polymer.
Aerosol device for hair shaping and/or hairstyle hold
The invention relates to an aerosol device comprising: a container containing a cosmetic composition which comprises at least one fixing polymer, and a dispensing head (3) comprising a body (5) and an end part (7) comprising at least two outlet orifices (12) configured to allow spraying of the composition about a longitudinal axis (Y) of the end part (7) in at least two different directions, the dispensing head (3) comprising at least first (15) and second (16) chambers, through which the composition stream successively passes before it exits via the outlet orifices (12).
METHODS OF CURING DICARBONYL SUBSTITUTED-1-ALKENES
An article may be formed by contacting a 1,1-dicarbonyl substituted alkene with an activator comprised of an initiating salt and a weak acid and allowing the 1,1-dicarbonyl substituted alkene to cure to form the article. The article may be any useful shape such as a film, coating, layer (e.g., within an additive manufactured article), laminate or the like. The article may be one in which the cured article adheres substrates together.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING A HYDROXYALKYL STARCH AS MAIN EMULSIFYING SYSTEM
A cosmetic composition in particular for coating keratinous fibers in the form of a wax-in-water emulsion and including at least one hydroxyalkyl starch, characterized in that the hydroxyalkyl starch constitutes the main emulsifying system of the composition. Also, a process for makeup and/or non-therapeutic care in particular for keratinous fibers, including the application of a composition such as previously described on the keratinous fibers. Further, the use of a composition such as previously described in order to get a homogeneous and/or building makeup of the eyelashes on the keratinous fibers, in particular eyelashes.
Compositions and methods of using the same for decontamination of skin
The present disclosure provides compositions comprising decontaminating compounds, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and methods of treating or preventing a contamination in a mammal, in particular, the composition can include a mixture of polyvinyl acetate and povidone, a coblock polymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, a polyvinyl alcohol, or combinations thereof, and an aqueous suspending agent.
Method for producing UV protective coating
Provided is a coating having a uniform and strong UV protective effect over the entire skin. A method for producing a UV protective coating on skin comprising a step of applying a composition comprising a UV protective agent to the skin, and a step of electrostatically spraying a composition comprising component (a) and component (b) directly onto the skin to form a coating on the skin, in this order or vice versa: (a) one or more volatile substances selected from the group consisting of water, an alcohol and a ketone, (b) a polymer having a film-forming ability.
Self-standing cosmetic sheet
The present invention relates to a cosmetic process which applies onto the skin a self-standing cosmetic sheet for the skin, comprising: at least one biocompatible and/or biodegradable hydrophobic polymer layer wherein the self-standing cosmetic sheet has a thickness of from 10 to 1000 nm, preferably from 30 to 500 nm, and more preferably from 50 to 300 nm. The cosmetic sheet according to the present invention may comprise at least one cosmetic active ingredient. The cosmetic sheet used in the present invention is very thin and not easily perceived on the skin; can be prepared with a variety of materials such as a biocompatible and/or biodegradable material; and can adhere well onto the skin without any adhesive layer so that it is less irritable or no irritable to the skin.
