Reflective Composition
The invention provides a cosmetic composition for providing a retro-reflective effect to incident light to a natural or artificial substrate such as hair, skin, nails, eyelashes and the like. The composition comprises retroreflective microparticles and a transparent coating composition and is substantially free of goniochromatic colouring agents.
Eyelash liquid eyeliner
The invention discloses an eyelash liquid eyeliner, wherein the raw materials comprise the following components in parts by weight: 50-60 parts of ethyl hexyl acrylate copolymer, 30-40 natural beeswax, 10-12 carnauba wax, 8-12 polyvinylpyrrolidone, 5-7 shellac, 1-3 black talc powder, 20-30 polyvinyl alcohol, 20-30 of silicone resins, 10-12 of codariocalyx motorius saponin extract, 5-7 dual-directional regulation growth promotion factors, 1-3 antifreeze, 1-3 coloring agent, 1-3 preservative, and 5-7 antioxidant. Components in the liquid eyeliner are replaced with natural substances of the natural beeswax, the carnauba wax, the shellac and the like, and the eyelash liquid eyeliner is safe to skin. Besides, organic silicone resins are added, so that the condition that the eyelash liquid eyeliner is broken up when being in contact with water can be effectively avoided, the organic silicone resin can effectively block ultraviolet rays and prevent the ultraviolet rays from destroying roots of eyelashes.
Clear Nail Top Coat Compositions And Methods Of Making
Clear nail polish top coat formulations prepared without the use of toxic compounds, such as toluene, are provided. The compositions utilize cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) as a main resin and discussed are the effects of numerous solvents, plasticizers, co-resins, and/or additives on CAB's solubility. For example, the type and ratio of solvents used are related to the selected CAB grade's molar ratio of butyryl, acetyl, and hydroxyl R-groups. Performances measures include, but are not limited to, transmitted haze, reflected haze, hardness, viscosity, shrinkage, tensile strength, and elastic modulus. Additionally, the effect of filtration on the transmitted haze is also discussed.
IMPROVEMENT IN OR RELATING TO ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
Disclosed is an encapsulated composition comprising at least one perfume and/or cosmetic ingredient that is entrapped in a matrix. The matrix comprises a starch and a hemicellulose.
Covalent treatment for keratin-containing materials
Disclosed are methods of grafting monomeric and polymeric materials on keratin-containing material to provide a covalent coating on keratin-containing material. A mixture comprising a reducing agent is applied to the keratin-containing material sample. The keratin-containing material sample then comprises a plurality of free thiol groups. A monomer is applied to the keratin-containing material sample. The free thiol groups react with the monomer to form a plurality of covalent bonds between the free thiol groups and the monomers. The reducing agent and the monomer can be applied separately, semi-simultaneously, or simultaneously. The disclosed methods can be carried out with or without catalyst. The disclosed methods can be carried out with or without an additive.
Carbon dioxide external preparation
Provided is a nonaqueous carbon dioxide external preparation in single dosage form, the external preparation comprising a paste base, carbonate, an acid and/or a substance which produces an acid by hydrolysis, and alcohol. Merely by being applied onto skin, this external preparation is useful due to obtaining the effect of a specific action of carbon dioxide.
Formulations with a controlled release of perfumes for dermal application
An odorant and flavoring formulation for topical application comprising, as matrix former, a mixture of at least one water-insoluble polymer from the group of homo- or co-polymers of C1-C4-carboxylic acid vinyl esters and at least one water-soluble polymer from the group of homo- or copolymers of N-vinyllactams.
High shine, long wear color cosmetic compositions
High shine single phase color cosmetic compositions that are flexible and resistant to water below a selected temperature, 43° C. for example. The compositions wear well, are smudge and flake resistant, as well as oil resistant, making them very suitable as high shine, long wear cosmetics. Compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. Compositions according to the invention are hydrophilic and easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature. The compositions are easy to manufacture, flexible and comfortable, and suitable for use on skin, hair and nails, particularly as eye shadow, eyeliner, lip products, tattoo products and mascara. Compositions may be formulated as liquid eyeliner, liquid eye shadow, mascara, liquid lip products and tattoo products.
