Personalizing substance for application to the skin or addition to tattoo ink and methods of preparation thereof
Compositions for delivering materials, such as a biological material, sand, soil, metal, water, sea water, holy water, synthetic or biological polymers, cremated ash, ceramics, animal or plant tissue, or another physiologically compatible component having personal significance to an individual are described herein. The material(s) are encapsulated in an inert, non-bioerodible, hydrophobic, polymeric material. Methods of making microparticles encapsulating the personalizing substance and methods of use are also provided. The personalizing substance may be encapsulated in a polymeric non-bioerodible microparticle. The encapsulated personalizing substance may be combined with a carrier for delivery to an individual's skin. In some embodiments, the personalizing substance is added to a tattoo ink and incorporated in a tattoo created on an individual's skin. Following injection in the skin, the encapsulated material remains in the microparticles, and is not released over time.
KITS AND METHODS FOR CLEANING AND REMINERALIZING TEETH
Methods for use in selectively conditioning and remineralizing teeth. An exemplary method comprises the steps of applying a conditioning composition to one or more of a person's teeth, and separately applying a remineralizing composition to the person's teeth. The conditioning composition includes a conditioning agent, and the remineralizing composition includes a remineralizing agent comprising calcium ions and/or fluoride ions. The conditioning composition may be applied prior to or after application of the remineralizing composition. In one embodiment, both the conditioning composition and the remineralizing composition include different remineralizing ions (e.g., one including calcium, one including fluoride).
FOAM PREPARED FROM NANOEMULSIONS AND USES
The present invention provides a foamable composition for administration to the skin, body surface, body cavity or mucosal surface, e.g., the mucosa of the nose, mouth, eye, ear, respiratory system, vagina or rectum, and methods of using such a composition to treat, alleviate, or prevent a disorder of the skin, body cavity, or mucosal surface. The foamable oil in water nano emulsion composition includes: (a) a nano oil globule system, comprising substantially of sub-micron oil globules; (b) about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of at least one stabilizing agent selected from (i) a non-ionic surfactant, (ii) an ionic surfactant, or (iii) a polymeric agent; and (c) a liquefied or compressed gas propellant at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition, water and optional ingredients. Upon release from an aerosol container, the foamable composition forms and expanded foam suitable for topical administration.
CONTROLLED RELEASE DUAL WALLED MICROCAPSULES
A method of forming dual melamine/acrylic walled microcapsules having improved physical properties and release control as well as the microcapsules formed by the process wherein the capsule wall is formed by the use of select (meth)acrylate monomers and/or oligomers and/or select self-condensing melamine resins.
HYDROGEL COMPOSITIONS
A hydrogel composition from a cross-linked polymer derived from one or more olefinically unsaturated polymerizable carboxylic monomers and a thermoplastic polyurethane composition is disclosed. The hydrogel exhibits high yield stress at low shear. The hydrogel composition provides useful materials for personal care, health care, medical and pharmaceutical applications, among others.
STABILIZED CHLORINE DIOXIDE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR USE AS DISINFECTANTS
Aqueous anti-microbial and cosmetic compositions are provided that comprise chlorine dioxide, wherein the chlorine dioxide is stabilized by two quaternary ammonium cations (quats). These quat-stabilized chlorine dioxide compositions can also comprise a dye, a surfactant or surfactant blend, a thickener, a foam booster and/or a fragrance. The quat-stabilized chlorine dioxide compositions can be used for sanitizing and conditioning the skin of humans and animals.
GEL-TYPE COSMETIC COMPOSITION
The present Invention is directed towards a cosmetic composition for making up and/or caring for keratin materials, in particular the skin and/or the lips, comprising:at least one aqueous phase gelled with at least one synthetic polymeric hydrophilic gelling agent; andat least one oily phase gelled with at least one lipophilic gelling agent; said phases forming therein a macroscopically homogeneous mixture; said composition also comprising at least one soft-focus filler.
Water-Gel Emulsion Compositions and Methods
A water-based composition containing oil soluble components may include an anhydrous concentrate including hydroxypropylcocoate PEG-8 dimethicone and a hydration component, which may be stored in separate vessels prior to mixing. The anhydrous concentrate may be combined with the hydration component to create a consumer product such as a topical cream. The anhydrous concentrate may include a preparation that includes a liquid dispersion polymer, an inverting surfactant and a binding agent, and also may include lipid-soluble vitamins, antioxidants and the like. The hydration component may include water and a preservative system, and also may include water-soluble vitamins, antioxidants and the like. Two forms (i.e. lipid-soluble and water-soluble) of a given ingredient (such as vitamin C) may be provided in the concentrate and the hydration component, respectively. A third vessel may be used for mixing the concentrate with the hydrator and/or dispensing the concentrate, the hydrator and/or the consumer product.
