Lockable lateral adjuster mechanism
A lockable lateral adjuster mechanism comprises a platform with a channel carried by a base. A cam has an eccentric head that is pivotally disposed in the channel. The cam has a stem extending through the channel and into a counter bore in the base. The platform is laterally displaceable with respect to the base as the cam pivots. A countersunk interface is disposed between the eccentric head and the channel. A fastener extends through the cam to the base, and secures the cam, and thus the platform, to the base, and applies an axial load on the countersunk interface along an axis of rotation of the cam.
System, apparatus, and method for securing structures
Systems, methods, and devices for securing structures include a fastener that includes a threaded body and a head. The head includes a rounded axial protrusion having a first radial diameter, and a noncircular radial portion for securing the fastener. The noncircular radial portion has a second radial diameter greater than the first radial diameter. The noncircular radial portion is positioned between the threaded body and the rounded axial protrusion.
System and method for designing pin joint
A computer-implemented method for designing a pin joint having a bearing member and a pin member received within the bearing member is provided. The method includes receiving, via a Graphical User Interface (GUI), at least one input related to one or more pin joint configuration parameters. The method includes receiving, via the GUI, at least one input related to one or more pin member design parameters. The method includes receiving, via the GUI, at least one input related to one or more bearing member design parameters. The method includes calculating a set of design parameters of the pin joint based on the inputs related to the pin joint configuration parameters, the pin member design parameters, and the bearing member design parameters. The method includes generating an output design of the pin joint based on the comparison between the calculated set of design parameters with a set of predefined design parameters.
Washer for retaining assembly pin
An assembly includes a first structure having a first pin aperture and at least one first fastener aperture adjacent the first pin aperture and a second structure to attached to the first structure having a second pin aperture and at least one second fastener aperture adjacent the second pin aperture. At least one fastener is configured to pass through the first and second fastener apertures and attach the first structure to the second structure. An assembly pin passes through the first and second pin apertures and is trapped within the first and second pin apertures. A pin-securing washer having a fastener surface defining at least one fastener aperture and a pin-securing surface to secure the assembly pin within the pin apertures. The at least one fastener passes through the at least one fastener aperture of the pin-securing washer.
Heat shield flange sliding joint
A thermal expansion includes a bottom portion extending between a support structure and a trailing edge, and the support structure is positioned proximate to a heat source. Furthermore, the thermal expansion joint includes a side portion. In some embodiments, the thermal expansion joint includes an overlapping portion coupled to the bottom portion and extending from a flange portion towards the side portion. Moreover, the overlapping portion overlays and is biased against the side portion to enable thermal expansion during heating by extending towards the flange portion and sliding along a top surface of the side portion.
PROTECTIVE SPORTS HELMET
A football helmet includes a plastic shell with side regions having an ear flap with a face guard connector, an ear opening, a slot, and a snap connector. The helmet also includes an internal padding assembly removably connected to the plastic shell and including a jaw pad with a force attenuating layer. When the helmet is worn, a front edge of the jaw pad is positioned both in front of a coronal plane and below a basic plane of a head of the helmet wearer. A chin strap assembly releasably secures the helmet to the wearer and includes a lower flexible strap extending outwardly from each side of a central protective member. When the helmet is worn, an extent of the lower flexible strap is received by the slot when said strap is affixed to the snap connector. The shell also includes a raised central band integrally formed as part of the shell and extending across the crown region to the rear region. An arrangement of elongated vent openings flank the raised central band.
Manikin stretch joint
Joints are provided for connecting first and second manikin parts. The joints can be partially opened like a clamshell by pivoting the parts on a point on the joint interface. They include first and second joint assemblies attached to the first and second manikin parts respectively. The joint assemblies comprise a stretch element such as a spring or an elastomeric cord, and are capable of detachably engaging with each other. The joints can rotate in a primary rotational direction, for example to move a detachable manikin leg close to the other manikin leg so that the manikin can quickly and easily be dressed in a pair of slacks. Rotation in a secondary direction is also provided to enable the manikins to be easily assembled by customers so that the manikin parts can be shipped separately. Components and methods of making and using the joints are also provided.
Joint assembly with reinforcing member and foam
A joint assembly that includes first and second joint members is provided. The joint assembly includes a reinforcing member that has an outer surface that defines a plurality of cavities. Foam is located in the joint members and engages the reinforcing member such that the foam is located in the cavities of the reinforcing member. Additionally or alternatively, the joint assembly may be constructed so that the inner surface of the first joint member defines a plurality of cavities. Foam is located in the joint members and engages the inner surface of the first joint member so that it is located in the cavities of the first joint member. Various methods of manufacturing and treating the joint assembly are also provided.
Mount
A mount is provided for mounting a plate to a frame assembly. The mount includes a generally cylindrical head extendable through an aperture the plate and having an upper surface, a lower face, an outer peripheral surface, and an alignment structure receivable in a slot of the frame member of the frame assembly. The cylindrical head includes a bolt-receiving bore extending through the cylindrical head along a bore axis at an acute angle to the upper face that is adapted to receive a bolt therethrough. A flange extends radially extending from the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical head. The flange has a diameter greater than the diameter of at least a portion of the aperture through the plate. Tightening of the bolt captures the plate between the flange and the frame member.
