A device for fastening an attached part, in particular in the form of a motor vehicle antenna, to a fitting wall provided with a fitting opening, in the form of a bodywork metal sheet. Tensioning structure is located in a region of the fitting opening and is arranged to secure the attached part relative to the fitting wall.

Multi-Material Restrainer Joint

A fastener for use in joining workpieces, for example automotive body parts such as a roof to a body frame member, is provided that includes a plastically deformable head portion, a platform disposed at a bottom of the head portion, and a distal end portion extending from the platform and defining at least one of elastically deformable locking member. The head portion is heat staked to one workpiece, and the elastically deformable locking member engages another workpiece to secure the workpieces together. The platform provides spacing, or a bond gap in one form, between the workpieces, and a material and geometry of the fastener are configured to compensate for a difference in thermal expansion of the workpieces.

Modular building units, and methods of constructing and transporting same

A lower connector includes a lower connector hollow body, a pair of lower connector bosses coupled to the lower connector hollow body, and a pair of lower connector arms coupled to the lower connector bosses. A connector assembly includes an upper connector coupled to a lower connector and a gusset plate sandwiched between the upper and lower connectors.

System for attaching electrical equipment to a metallic support

A system for attaching electrical equipment to a metallic support and including a pin designed to be inserted through a through-housing of the metallic support and a metallic insert of the electrical equipment, and a device for insulating the metallic support, extending between the metallic support and the metallic insert. The system also includes a mechanical retention device designed to apply load to the insulating device so as to keep them in contact with the metallic support and with the metallic insert.

Assembly with at least two components that are fixed together

The invention relates to an assembly for a motor vehicle comprising at least a first component and a second component, for example a carrier and a guide rail of a window lifter which are fixed together by means of at least one fastening element, in this case by a plurality of rivets. A fastening element engages into openings of which one opening respectively is formed in a receiving portion of the first component and one on a protrusion of the second component, wherein a protrusion respectively protrudes in an associated receiving portion and a flexible or elastic edge section of a receiving portion can be shifted in the direction of the associated protrusion. The at least one edge section that can be shifted in a flexible manner is designed and provided for compensating manufacturing tolerances, such that the two components automatically align to one another in the area of the flexible edge section during the fastening process and can form a solid connection as intended, wherein the protruding section is locked in the receiving portion by the edge section which is shifted and pushed against the protruding section.

Heat Shield Flange Sliding Joint

A thermal expansion joint is disclosed. In one non-limiting example the thermal expansion joint includes a bottom portion extending between a support structure and a trailing edge and the support structure is positioned proximate to a heat source. Furthermore, the thermal expansion joint includes a side portion. In some embodiments, the thermal expansion joint includes an overlapping portion coupled to the bottom portion and extending from a flange portion towards the side portion. Moreover, the overlapping portion overlays and is biased against the side portion to enable thermal expansion during heating by extending towards the flange portion and sliding along a top surface of the side portion.

Manifold System

In an illustrative embodiment, a system for mounting an aircraft monument partition to an aircraft cabin surface such as a floor may include a mounting structure fitted within and attached to a floor-abutting edge of the monument partition, the mounting structure including a mounting opening. A securement apparatus for securing the monument partition to cabin surface via the mounting structure may include a threaded fastener for extending through the mounting opening of the mounting structure and through a corresponding opening in a track mounted to the cabin surface, and a bridging washer for mating with the mounting opening; where, to secure the monument partition to the floor of the cabin area, the threaded fastener is provided through the mounting opening of the mounting structure and threaded to a mating fixture on a bottom side of the track.

Upper Mounting Apparatus for Retaining Aircraft Monuments

In an illustrative embodiment, an upper monument attachment system is provided for retaining aircraft monuments, the system including a first support, a second support, and a joiner connecting a first end of the first support and a first end of the second support, a stay having a first end pivotably connected to the joiner, a tie rod configured to connect the joiner to an attachment point of the aircraft, a first rail having a first base configured to connect to an upper surface of the monument and a first facing configured to connect to the first support and the second support, and a second rail having a second base configured to connect to the upper surface of the monument and a second facing configured to connect to a second end of the stay.

Intermediate Stowage Retainer for Aircraft Monument Storage Bay

In an illustrative embodiment, an intermediate retaining assembly secures a rearmost equipment item of at least two horizontally-stacked equipment items within an aircraft galley compartment. The intermediate retaining assembly may include a manual control coupled to a first end of a rod where rotation of the manual control causes rotation of the rod. A retaining lever may engage a second end of the rod upon moving the rod to an axially extended position such that rotation of the rod causes the retaining lever to rotate between a position for securing the rearmost equipment item and a position for removing the rearmost equipment item from or inserting into the compartment. A mounting plate may be secured to an interior surface of the compartment and may have a recess for receiving the retaining lever, preventing the retaining lever from interfering with the equipment item during insertion into or release from the compartment.
