Self-cleaning cool roof system
Roofing systems are disclosed herein. In particular, a method of making an asphaltic roofing product having an asphaltic substrate and at least one granule disposed thereon is disclosed herein.
COOL ROOF SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A membrane roofing system that includes a waterproof layer that protects an insulation layer and a granule coupled to the waterproof layer. The granule has a 60% or greater reflectivity that reduces transmission of ultraviolet light to the waterproof layer. The granule is coated in a fluorinated acrylic copolymer that resists adsorption and absorption of asphaltic chemicals by the granule from the waterproof layer.
SYNTHETIC FLASHING MATERIAL
The invention is directed to a synthetic flashing material, to a method of preparing the synthetic flashing material, and to a method for using the synthetic flashing material, and to the use as insulating material. The synthetic flashing material comprises an amount of polymer material of 75 wt. % or more, wherein the content of metals in the synthetic flashing material is 10 wt. % or less.
Colored roofing granules with increased solar heat reflectance, solar heat-reflective shingles and process for producing same
Solar-reflective roofing granules having deep-tone colors are formed by coating base mineral particles with a coating composition including an infrared-reflective pigment. Color is provided by a colored infrared pigment, a light-interference platelet pigment, or a metal oxide.
Roof system with energy efficient features
A roof system that includes a roof covering in the form of planting areas, a water storage, a wind turbine, a water turbine, a solar panel, and a water heater. The roof system includes a plurality of ceramic chambers each including a wind turbine and a recess for housing a planter area.
GREEN ROOFING SUBSTRATE BRICK AND METHOD OF INSTALLING SAME
A green roofing substrate brick comprises a water-permeable fabric box having an open top, and a solidified and non-compressed substrate in the box. The substrate comprises a water storage and drainage medium, and a binder solidifying the water storage and drainage medium.
Solar-Reflective Roofing Granules with Hollow Glass Spheres
The present disclosure relates to roofing granule having a base granule with at least one layer on the base granule that includes hollow glass spheres embedded in a ceramic matrix and a roofing article having a substrate and a plurality of any embodiment of roofing granules described above. The disclosure additionally relates to a roofing granule precursor mixture containing base granules, an aluminum silicate, an alkali metal silicate, and hollow glass spheres. The disclosure also relates to a method of making roofing granules including providing base granules; applying a coating containing hollow glass spheres, an aluminum silicate, an alkali metal silicate to the base granules; and heating the coated granules to a temperature between about 550° F. and about 1000° F.
A Modular Platform Assembly and a Method of Assembling a Modular Platform
There is disclosed a modular platform assembly including a plurality of legs (18), a plurality of floor beams (20a,b,c), and a plurality of connectors (24a,b,c,d) for connecting the legs (18) and the floor beams (20a,b,c). Each said connector (24a,b,c,d) comprises: a downwardly open blind recess (59) with a closed top end (60) and an open bottom end (62); and an upwardly open blind recess (64) with a closed bottom end (66) and an open top end (68). The legs (18) are mounted into the downwardly open blind recesses (59) of the connectors (24a,b,c,d) and the floor beams (20a,b,c) are mounted into the upwardly open blind recesses (64) of the connectors (24a,b,c,d) such that the legs (18) extend downwardly from the floor beams (20a,b,c).
PRECAST INSULATED LOAD BEARING ROOF ELEMENT AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING A ROOF ELEMENT
The present disclosure relates to a precast load bearing roof deck element for a building comprising an upper floor layer of concrete, a load bearing steel reinforced lower layer of concrete, at least one thermally insulating layer located between and separating the upper floor layer of concrete and the lower layer of concrete, and a plurality of binders extending between the lower layer of concrete and the upper floor layer of concrete, the roof deck element configured to be mounted on a load bearing construction of the building. The disclosure also relates to a roof construction comprising a load bearing construction, such as a column and beam construction, and at least two of the above mentioned precast load bearing roof deck elements, wherein the roof deck elements are positioned side by side forming a gap between the roof deck elements, wherein the distance between the roof elements is between 0 mm and 100 mm, or between 1 mm and 100 mm. Furthermore the present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a load bearing roof deck element and a method for installing a roof construction on a load bearing construction of a building.
HEATING COMPENSATING ROOFING BOARDS
A roofing board, such as a polyiso insulation board, includes first and second surfaces, where the first surface is lighter in color than the second surface. This allows the roofing installer to choose which of the surfaces to expose to the atmosphere, the lighter surface being cooler than the darker surface. The lighter surface may have a solar reflectance greater than the darker surface. A roofing membrane is then adhered or otherwise attached to the exposed surface.
