Administration of benzodiazepine compositions
The invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising one or more benzodiazepine drugs for nasal administration, methods for producing and for using such compositions.
Aerosols for sinunasal drug delivery
A pharmaceutical aerosol is disclosed which is suitable for delivering an active compound to the mucosa of the nose, the osteomeatal complex or a paranasal sinus. The pressure of the aerosol is not constant, but pulsates at a frequency from about 10 to 90 Hz. The aerosol is further characterised in that it exhibits a low effective flow rate of less than about 5 liters per minute. The aerosol is, inter alia, suitable for the prevention, management, or treatment of a disease, symptom, or condition affecting the nose or the paranasal sinuses, such as acute and chronic sinusitis.
Inhalable Formulation
This invention provides a process for preparing an inhalable active pharmaceutical ingredient comprising the steps of heating a suspension of an active pharmaceutical ingredient in a liquefied propellant in a vessel, evaporating the propellant and collecting the resultant powder.
COMBINING ELECTRONIC MONITORING WITH INHALED PHARMACOLOGICAL THERAPY TO MANAGE CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS INCLUDING ATRIAL FIBRILLATION
Disclosed herein are methods of treating cardiac arrhythmia with electronic monitoring in a timely manner. Also disclosed herein are systems for electronic monitoring of cardiac arrhythmia.
8'-HYDROXY-DIHYDROERGOTAMINE COMPOUNDS AND COMPOSITIONS
8′-Hydroxy-Dihydroergotamine (8′-OH DHE) medicinal compounds, compositions, and dosage forms containing such compositions are provided. Also provided herein are methods of treatment, prevention, or amelioration of diseases, conditions or disorders selected from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, stress/anxiety, nausea, emesis, aggression, pain, neuropathic pain, sleeplessness, insomnia, restless leg syndrome and depression using the compounds, compositions, dosage forms and administration techniques disclosed herein.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING CANCER USING CHRNA6 INHIBITORS
The present invention provides methods for treating cancer using a6*nAChR inhibitors, such as a6*nAChR inhibitory antibodies, among others. The invention also features compositions containing a6*nAChR inhibitors, methods of diagnosing patients with a6*nAChR-associated cancer, and methods of predicting the response of cancer in a subject to treatment with a6*nAChR inhibitors.
METERED DOSING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE OF PSYCHEDELIC COMPOUNDS
New metered-dosing compositions and methods of use comprising at least one psychedelic compound derived from living organisms such as plants and fungi, synthetically-derived forms or synthetic analogue. The composition for use in metered-dosing administration modalities, including a nasal spray, pressurized metered-dose inhaler, etc.
Enhanced delivery of drug compositions to treat life threatening infections
Inhalable compositions are described. The inhalable compositions comprise one or more respirable aggregates, the respirable aggregates comprising one or more poorly water soluble active agents, wherein at least one of the active agents reaches a maximum lung concentration (C.sub.max) of at least about 0.25 μg/gram of lung tissue and remains at such concentration for a period of at least one hour after being delivered to the lung. Methods for making such compositions and methods for using such compositions are also disclosed.
Methods to treat inflammation of the lung
The present invention provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising leukotoxin for the treatment of lung inflammation.
CONFORMAL COATING OF CELLS FOR IMMUNOISOLATION
Hydrodynamic methods for conformally coating non-uniform size cells and cell clusters for implantation, thus preventing immune rejection or inflammation or autoimmune destruction while preserving cell functionality. A method for conformally coating cells and cell clusters with hydrogels that are biocompatible, mechanically and chemically stable and porous, with an appropriate pore cut-off size. The methods of the invention are advantageously reproducible and result in a relatively high yield of coated versus non-coated cell clusters, without compromising cell functionality. Conformal coating devices configured to perform the methods of the invention, methods of optimally utilizing said devices and purifying the coated islets, and coated biomaterials made by said methods.
