PROCESS
A process for the manufacture of a useful product from carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics, the process comprising the steps of: continuously providing the carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics to a gasification zone; gasifying the carbonaceous feedstock in the gasification zone to obtain raw synthesis gas; sequentially removing ammoniacal, sulphurous and carbon dioxide impurities from the raw synthesis gas to form desulphurised gas and recovering carbon dioxide in substantially pure form; converting at least a portion of the desulphurised synthesis gas to a useful product. Despite having selected a more energy intensive sub-process i.e. physical absorption for removal of acid gas impurities, the overall power requirement of the facility is lower on account of lower steam requirements and thereby leading to a decrease in the carbon intensity score for the facility.
Coffin in particular for burial in the ground
A coffin, in particular for burial in the ground, includes a bottom, side walls, a lid, a mattress and collecting means capable of receiving vital fluids under the mattress. The coffin also has oxygen-storage means enabling oxygen to be introduced into the coffin, humidifying means and heating means so as to generate, over time, conditions which allow rapid decomposition of the body.
Food waste recycling appliance
A food recycler can include a housing defining an interior and an access opening to the interior. A mixing bin can be located within the interior and can have an inlet and an outlet. The food recycler can further include an output bin, the output bin having an inlet. The outlet of the mixing bin can couple or connect to the inlet of the output bin. The food recycler further has a transfer assembly for transferring food waste from the mixing bin to the output bin. The transfer assembly includes a chute mounted to the housing and operably coupling the first outlet of the mixing bin to the second inlet of the output bin, and at least one vibration damper positioned between the housing and the chute configured to allow flexibility of the chute to vibrate relative to the housing.
Biogas Conversion To Synthesis Gas For Producing Hydrocarbons
The invention relates to a a method for producing a synthesis gas for use in the production of a hydrocarbon product, particularly a synthetic fuel, said method comprising the steps of: providing a hydrocarbon feed stream comprising biogas; optionally, purifying the hydrocarbon feed stream in a gas purification unit; optionally, prereforming the hydrocarbon feed stream together with a steam feedstock in a prereforming unit; carrying out steam methane reforming in a reforming reactor heated by means of an electrical power source; providing the synthesis gas to a synthetic fuel synthesis unit, preferably a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, for converting said synthesis gas into hydrocarbon product and producing a tail gas. The invention also relates to a system for producing a synthesis gas for use in the production of a hydrocarbon product, particularly a synthetic fuel.
PROCESS FOR INCREASING THE FERTILITY OF SOIL FOR AGRICULTURAL CROP PRODUCTION
A method for increasing the fertility of soil for agricultural crop production by producing a biofertilizer containing one or more selected strains of nitrogen fixing cyanobacteria that are compatible with the type of soil and environmental conditions where the biofertilizer is to be applied and rhizobacteria, and applying the biofertilizer to such soil at a rate that is sufficient to accelerate the fertilization performance of the soil for the growth of agricultural products, and to increase the net terrestrial sequestration of CO2.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FERTILISER AND FERTILISER COMPOSITION
A method of producing a fertilizer composition, the method comprising: (a) providing a composition comprising ammonia; and (b) contacting the composition provided in step (a) with: (i) a composition comprising carbon dioxide; and (ii) a source of sulfate ion; and (iii)cellulosic fibres.
HYDROLYSATE BASED BIOSTIMULANT COMPOSITIONS DERIVED FROM METHANOTROPH, METHODS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to protein hydrolysate based biostimulant composition derived from methanotrophic bacteria, and methods for enhancing agricultural productivity. In particular, the compositions disclosed herein comprise a protein-derived component in an amount of about 30% or less with respect to weight of the composition, wherein said protein-derived component is obtained from a methanotrophic bacterium. The present biostimulant composition finds applications in methods for improving plant performance along with methods for reducing the need of external chemical fertilizer-based inputs for plant growth.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING SYNTHESIS GAS THROUGH THERMOCHEMICAL CONVERSION OF BIOMASS AND WASTE MATERIALS
The present invention provides a process and apparatus for converting feedstock comprising biomass and/or carbon-containing solid waste material to synthesis gas. The process comprises supplying the feedstock to a gasifier comprising a fluidized bed zone and a post-gasification zone and contacting the feedstock with a gasification agent at a plurality of different operating temperatures based on the ash softening temperature of the feedstock and finally recovering the synthesis gas. The apparatus is configured to perform the process and comprises a plurality of nozzles arranged at an acute angle relative to a horizontal plane of the gasifier.
