SEMI-SOLID FORMULATION FOR VOLUNTARY ORAL ADMINISTRATION OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS TO RODENTS

A formulation for voluntary oral administration of bioactive compounds to rodents. The semidsolid formulation having at least one thickening agent, a digestible sweetener selected from sucralose and calcium saccharin, a diluent agent, wherein the diluent agent is a powder with a granulometry between 300 and 800 μm, obtained from finely grounded seeds, cereal grains or cereal grain based diet for rodents, at least one flavor masking agent and a bioactive compound. The semi-solid formulation promotes voluntary feeding in rodents regardless of the bioactive compounds contained therein and without disruption of the metabolic pathways, therefore the semi-solid formulation has shown to be ideal for use in the oral administration of drugs and bioactive compounds to rodents. Use of the semi-solid formulation in the production of toxicant baits for rodents is also envisioned.

The fatty acid-protected protein includes a protein source and a hydrogenated saturated fatty acid that coats the protein source. Various embodiments provide methods of feeding a ruminant and methods of forming the composition.

Method for feeding Hermetia illucens and used as for preparing composite material of pupariums

This invention discloses method for feeding Hermetia illucens and used as for preparing composite material of puparium, which comprises the following steps: S1, dry Hermetia illucens pupariums and grind them into powdery, S2, adding powdery of Hermetia illucens pupariums into sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, stirring, separating and filtering, S3, adding the pupariums into hydrochloric acid solution, stirring, separating and filtering; S4, placing the pupariums into sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, stirring, separating and filtering; S5, drying the pupariums, and screening out the granular pretreated powder of the Hermetia illucens pupariums. The invention also disclose preparation method of composite material and thin film of Hermetia illucens pupariums and antibacterial and antimildew additive. The method can effectively improve the yield of chitosan in Hermetia illucens pupariums, and the prepared pupariums powder can be used for preparing polymer composite fibers and thin films of the Hermetia illucens pupariums, thus, the antibacterial effect is greatly improved. A new antibacterial and antimycotic additive can be obtained by compounding the powder of Hermetia illucens pupariums with the powder of oyster shell.

An image capture device captures an image of crop after it has been processed by a kernel processing unit on a forage harvester. A size distribution indicative of the distribution of kernel fragment sizes in the harvested crop is identified from the image captured by the image capture device. A control system generates control signals to control a speed differential in the speed of rotation of kernel processing rollers based on the size distribution. Control signals can also be generated to control a size of a gap between the kernel processing rollers.
