A hybrid power unit of a work machine includes an engine and an energy storage device. The engine includes a crankshaft for driving a load and the crankshaft is attached to an energy storage device via a clutch. The energy storage device can be charged by the engine to store energy, that may be used to provide, when required, a boost to engine performance. The clutch may engage/disengage the energy storage device from the engine and/or control a clutch pressure. The clutch protects the crankshaft from shock loading and can slip to prevent over-torqueing of the crankshaft.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A HYBRID DRIVE ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND CORRESPONDING HYBRID DRIVE ASSEMBLY
20230011692 · 2023-01-12 · ·

A method for operating a hybrid drive assembly for a motor vehicle, which has an internal combustion engine and an electric engine. A separating clutch arranged in drive terms between the internal combustion engine and the electric engine is set to a target clutch torque by at least partially engaging during an attempt to start the internal combustion engine. An actual clutch torque actually transmitted via the separating clutch and a speed of the internal combustion engine are determined during the attempt to start, and if a characteristic value dependent on the actual clutch torque exceeds a threshold value and if an integral of the speed over time continuously falls below a limit value during the attempt to start, the attempt to start is aborted.

VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

When an amount of particulate matters (PM) collected by a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) increases, a control processing unit (CPU) of an engine electronic control unit (ENG ECU) stops combustion control of some cylinders and executes a regeneration process to cause air-fuel ratios of air-fuel mixtures in the remaining cylinders to be richer than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. A CPU of a hybrid electric vehicle electronic control unit (HV ECU) increases a target rotation speed of an internal combustion engine when the regeneration process is executed. When executing the regeneration process, the CPU increases a filling efficiency of the internal combustion engine.
