Method for forming a tubular construction element
A method for forming a tubular construction element built up of longitudinally extending segments joined together in a side-by-side relationship, wherein the length in the longitudinal direction of the tubular construction element is greater than the diameter thereof.
Multi-layer thermoplastic films and bags with enhanced light transmittance and methods for making the same
Implementations described herein include films with maintained or decreased light transmittance despite a reduction in gauge. In particular, one or more implementations include a multi-layer film with each layer having differing opacity agents. The combination of the two different opacity agents in two different layers can have a synergistic effect that provide decreased light transmittance. Indeed, in one or more embodiments a multi-layer film with differing opacity agents in each layer has a decreased light transmittance despite a reduction in gauge and opacity agents.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A DECORATIVE SUBSTRATE AND DECORATIVE SUBSTRATE PRODUCED THEREBY
A method of forming a composite article is disclosed that involves providing a press having first and second platens, a cellulosic fiber substrate having a first thickness, and a layer of material such as a wood veneer, foil, or non-creped paper, where the layer of material has a thickness less than the thickness of the cellulosic fiber substrate. A layer of bonding material is placed onto the cellulosic fiber substrate or the layer of material, and the layer of material is placed onto the cellulosic fiber substrate so that the bonding material is between the layer of material and the cellulosic fiber substrate. The cellulosic fiber substrate and layer of material are placed between the first and second platens, and at least one of the first and second platens is moved toward the other of the first and second platens to deform the cellulosic fiber substrate and layer of material into a predetermined configuration while bonding the layer of material to the cellulosic fiber substrate without cracking or wrinkling the layer of material.
Methods for making composite parts from stacked partially cured sublaminate units
A method of forming a composite article. One step involves applying adhesive on surfaces of a plurality of sublaminate units, each ply of each sublaminate unit comprising fibers impregnated with resin which has been initially cured to 30% to 50% of full cure. The initially cured sublaminate units are then arranged in a stack, which stack is pressed against a surface of a forming tool. While pressure is being applied, the stack is heated to an intermediate temperature above a glass transition temperature of the resin for a time interval sufficient to intermediately cure the resin to 50% to 70% of full cure to form a composite laminate having a contour defined by the surface of the forming tool. Then the resin is finally cured at a final temperature higher than the intermediate temperature.
Composite filler
A method and apparatus is presented. Layers of composite material are laid down on a forming tool. A respective bend is formed in each of the layers to form the composite filler comprising bent layers on the forming tool. The composite filler comprising the bent layers is placed into a gap formed by at least one composite structure.
Method of manufacturing a circuit board by punching
A method of manufacturing a circuit board includes: forming a plurality of metal electrodes so as to be separated from each other on a holding sheet by cutting a metal foil held on the holding sheet to remove a portion of the metal foil; forming adhesive layers on surfaces of the plurality of metal electrodes; adhering the adhesive layers to a base material by closely contacting the adhesive layers with the base material; and transcribing the adhesive layers and the plurality of metal electrodes onto the base material by detaching the holding sheet from the plurality of metal electrodes.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET LAMINATE, MOLD FOR MOLDING SHEET LAMINATE, AND SHEET LAMINATE
A method for manufacturing a sheet laminate to be affixed to an adherent surface of an object, the method comprising preparing a sheet member having a front surface to become a design surface and a rear surface on which an adhesive part has been formed, bending an edge part of the sheet member by sandwiching the sheet member from a front surface side and a rear surface side in a mold, and heating a part of a bent sheet member. The sheet laminate has a flat part spreading out in a flat plate shape, a side surface on which the edge part bent by the bending step is configured, and a connecting surface protruding and curving toward the front surface side between the flat part and the side surface, and in the heating step, the connecting surface is partially heated after the side surface is molded in the bending step.
Thermoplastic structures
A method of forming a consolidated structure. The method comprises placing a thermoplastic material onto a forming tool to form a structure; positioning the structure within a tool; and consolidating the structure to form the consolidated structure. The tool has a number of die liners configured to generate heat in response to a magnetic field. Consolidating comprises applying a magnetic field to the number of die liners to heat the structure to a consolidation temperature.
VASCULAR GRAFTS DERIVED FROM ACELLULAR TISSUE MATRICES
A vascular graft for treatment of diseased or damaged blood vessels is disclosed. The graft comprises a sheet of acellular tissue matrix with an intact basement membrane. The graft is formed by wrapping the sheet into a tube and securing the edges of the sheet together. The acellular tissue matrix facilitates tissue ingrowth and remodeling of the graft with host cells.
