Cyclodextrin compositions including one or more radiation polymerizable monomers and a cyclodextrin inclusion complex, the cyclodextrin inclusion complex including a cyclodextrin compound and an olefinic inhibitor of an ethylene generation in produce, are coated onto packaging materials and cured. Treated containers and treated package inserts having the cured cyclodextrin compositions are useful in packaging of respiring plant materials.

LAMINATE AND CONTAINER AND PACKAGE FOR FOOD

A laminate of the present invention is a laminate with a sheet shape for vacuum forming, pressure forming, or warm forming that includes an inner layer and paired outer layers layered on the respective opposite sides of the inner layer. The inner layer contains an inorganic filler and a thermoplastic resin. The outer layers contains a thermoplastic resin. The inorganic filler contains calcium carbonate particles. The inorganic filler has a percentage content of greater than 50.0% by mass in the laminate. The outer layers each have a thickness at a ratio to the total thickness of the laminate of at least 2.0% and no greater than 20.0%. The total thickness of the laminate is at least 300 μm and no greater than 450 μm. The maximum particle diameter of the calcium carbonate particles is no greater than 20 μm.

Ultraviolet light inhibiting contact lens package

A package for contact lenses package having an ability to block ultraviolet and high energy visible wavelengths. The package has a transmissibility of less than 20% at wavelengths between 250 nm and 475 nm, and a transmissibility equal to or greater than 10% at the light wavelengths greater than 480 nm.

A plastic preform includes a hollow body portion including a closed base portion and a lower portion and a lower portion extending upwardly from the closed bottom portion; and a neck portion extending upwardly from the lower portion. The neck portion includes a dispensing opening positioned at a top of the neck portion, threads positioned below the dispensing opening, a tamper-evident formation having a lower surface and positioned directly below the threads, and a support flange having an upper surface and a lower surface and positioned below the tamper-evident formation. In an embodiment, the plastic preform is formed of a material comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and a vertical distance from the lower surface of the tamper-evident formation to the lower surface of the support flange is from 0.125 to 0.150 inches. Containers and methods for molding preforms and making containers are also disclosed.

Apparatuses and methods for inspecting a pharmaceutical cylindrical containers are provided. The apparatus includes a support device, a light emitting unit, and a light receiving unit. The support device supports the pharmaceutical cylindrical container and rotates the cylindrical pharmaceutical container around a longitudinal axis. The light emitting unit has a light source that illuminates the pharmaceutical cylindrical container with a detection beam while the support device rotates the pharmaceutical cylindrical container. The light receiving unit has a camera that acquires polarization information of the detection beam.

CROSSLINKED COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PACKAGING ARTICLES SUCH AS FOOD AND BEVERAGE CONTAINERS

A method of forming a coating on a food or beverage container, which includes spraying a coating composition onto an interior surface of the food or beverage container, where the coating composition includes a latex copolymer and a metal drier or crosslinking agent. The latex copolymer is a reaction product of monomers that include (a) one or more styrene-mimicking monomers containing one or more cyclic groups and one or more ethylenically-unsaturated groups, at least a portion of such styrene-mimicking monomers being polycyclic monomers containing ring unsaturation, and (b) one or more other ethylenically-unsaturated monomers. Preferably, the coating composition is substantially free of each of BPA, PVC, other halogenated monomers, and optionally styrene. The method may also include curing the sprayed coating composition, thereby providing the coating on the interior surface of the food or beverage container.

Fluoropolymer barrier material for containers

A container having a barrier layer is provided. The container may be of thermoplastic and the barrier may inhibit materials from leaching from the thermoplastic material or from extraction of compounds from medicants by the thermoplastic. A process is also described that allows for molding thin barrier layers as container lines and for forming thermoplastic containers with barrier liners.
