Release liner for pressure sensitive adhesives and method of use
A double-sided adhesive tape assembly that includes a double-sided tape having a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on each side thereof and a delaminatable release liner in contact with the pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) on one or both sides of the double-sided tape is disclosed. A roll of the double-sided adhesive tape assembly is also disclosed. Methods of making and using the double-sided adhesive tape assembly are also disclosed.
White and black ply laminate
According to one embodiment, a roofing membrane laminate includes a first layer of an uncured ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM) material and a second layer of a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) material coupled with the EPDM material. The EPDM material has a thickness of between about 50 mils and 70 mils and the TPO material has a thickness of between about 15 mils and 35 mils. The EPDM material and TPO material are coupled via crosslinking of the TPO and EPDM material at an interface thereof, whereby at least a top portion of the EPDM material is cured via the application of heat after the EPDM material and TPO material are placed into contact so as to effect crosslinking of the materials.
Label assembly and method of using the same to label articles durably yet removably
A label assembly and method of using the same to label articles durably, yet removably. In one embodiment, the method includes providing an image removing laminate. The image removing laminate includes (i) a remover support, and (ii) a remover layer secured to the remover support, the remover layer, upon being activated by at least one of heat and light, being bondable to an ink image on a garment in such a way that the bonding between the remover layer and the ink image is stronger than the bonding between the ink image and the garment. The method then includes bonding the remover layer of the image removing laminate to the ink image on the garment and, then, detaching the ink image from the garment by separating the image removing laminate away from the garment.
Multi-Layered Assembly With Tight Peel Control
Embodiments disclosed herein provide for multi-layered assemblies comprising a carrier having opposed sides; a heat sealable layer disposed on at least a portion of one of said sides of the carrier, said heat sealable layer comprising a partially salt neutralized ionomer; and a polymeric film comprising polyurethane and having opposed sides, wherein one of said sides of the polymeric film in at least in partial contact with said heat sealable layer, methods of making the same as well as other variations.
Multilayer film with high tear propagation resistance and low shrinkage
Multilayer film with high tear propagation resistance of at least 300 mN for a total layer thickness of 45 m, a shrinkage of 1% at 120 C. and release properties, comprising a layer (a) formed of at least one propylene copolymer and optionally at least one olefin homopolymer, at least one internal layer (b) formed of at least one olefin/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymer, a layer (c) formed of at least one propylene copolymer and optionally at least one olefin homopolymer with optional adhesion layers (d) and (e) arranged between layers (a) and (b), and between layers (b) and (c) respectively.
FOAM GASKET AND BONDING TAPE BASED ON POLYURETHANE DISPERSIONS
A polymer sheet includes a polyurethane core. The polyurethane core has a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface. The polymer sheet can have at least one functional layer overlying a major surface. The polymer sheet has a thickness t.sub.PS. The polyurethane core has a thickness t.sub.PC. In embodiments t.sub.PC can be at least 0.3 t.sub.PS. The polyurethane core can have at least one of the following property: (i) a Scratch Resistance Rating, as further described herein, of not greater than about 10 wt %, (ii) an elongation at break of at least 200%, (iii) a tensile strength at break of at least 0.3 MPa, (iv) a loss of tensile strength of not greater than about 30% when exposed to UV light according to standard SAE J1960 (Rev. August 2003).
The polymer sheet can be used for gaskets or bonding tapes.
LAMINATE COMPOSITION, FILM AND RELATED METHODS
An environmentally friendly laminate structure that provides improved print properties, wherein the laminate structure comprises a print film and an overlaminate film. The print film includes a print layer and a support layer. In one embodiment the print film further comprises an adhesive layer. In another embodiment the print film even further comprises a release liner. The print layer comprises a polymeric material and a silicone additive. The overlaminate material comprises a polymeric material. The overlaminate material may further comprise a functional material.
Method of producing a self-adhesive tape having a layer of photoinitiator-free pressure-sensitive acrylate hotmelt adhesive
The invention describes a double-sided, carrierless self-adhesive tape which can be used in particular for achieving very durable adhesive bonding of a variety of articles. This double-sided, carrierless self-adhesive tape is composed of a homogeneously crosslinked pressure-sensitive acrylate hotmelt composition of single-layer construction, which may have been lined with release materials such as siliconized release papers or release films. The double-sided, carrierless pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is characterized in that it is composed of a photoinitiator-free, thermally homogeneously crosslinked acrylate hotmelt which is crosslinked predominantly by way of urethane units. It is notable in particular for the fact that it is homogeneously chemically crosslinked through the layer and, in contrast to acrylate layers crosslinked by radiation (UV/EBC), does not exhibit any profile of crosslinking through the layer. It can be used in particular as an adhesive transfer tape for the permanent attachment of articles to a variety of substrates.
