Laminate Facing for Fiber Reinforced Materials And Composite Materials Formed Therefrom
The present invention provides a laminate material having a polyester film and a web of polyester fibers cohesively bonded directly thereto, such that portions of the fibers are bonded to the polyester film and portions of the fibers are free from the polyester film. The invention may also include a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer where the polymer of the glass reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer. The laminate may further include a second polymer layer having a thickness joined to the fiber layer and/or a layer of hot melt adhesive applied to the polyester fibers. Also presented is a composite material having a polyester film, a layer of polyester fibers bonded to the second polymer layer; a second polymer layer joined to the polyester film; and a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer, where the polymer of the class reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer.
Compact camera module
A compact camera module that contains a generally planar base on which is mounted a lens barrel is provided. The base, barrel, or both are molded from a polymer composition that includes a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer and a plurality of mineral fibers (also known as “whisker”). The mineral fibers have a median width of from about 1 to about 35 micrometers and constitute from about 5 wt. % to about 60 wt. % of the polymer composition.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A FLEXIBLE DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND PROCESS FILM FOR MANUFACTURING A FLEXIBLE DISPLAY SUBSTRATE
A method of manufacturing a flexible display substrate using a process film and a process film for manufacturing a flexible display substrate are provided. The method of manufacturing the flexible display substrate using the process film is as follows. A base layer for the flexible display substrate is prepared on a glass substrate. A packaging process is performed on the base layer to form a plurality of cells which are spaced apart from one another at a predetermined distance. The base layer is covered with the process film, after forming the plurality of cells. The base layer is separated from the glass substrate, while the base layer is laminated to the process film. The base layer is cut along each cell to form a plurality of flexible display substrates. Accordingly, the method of manufacturing the flexible display substrate using the process film is provided to improve the convenience of a manufacturing process and the reliability of the manufactured flexible display substrate by manufacturing the plurality of display substrates using the process film.
FIRE INSULATION MATERIAL
A fire insulation precursor material formed of cement, in an amount of between 10-30% w/w; and an aluminium or magnesium hydroxide, huntite or hydromagnesite in an amount of between 60-90% w/w/. A fire insulation material is provided including the previously mentioned precursor material. Further described are methods of forming a fire insulation material and applications for such material in sheaths, duct coatings, cable trays and other elongate components.
Flexible plastic film
The present invention relates to a flexible plastic film, and more specifically to a flexible plastic film having excellent flexibility while exhibiting high hardness. According to the present invention, the flexible plastic film exhibits flexibility, bending property, high hardness, scratch resistance and high transparency, and hardly has a risk of damaging the film even in a state of being warped for a long period of time, and thereby can be usefully applied to flexible mobile devices, display devices, front face and display unit of various instrument panels, and the like.
Liquid Crystalline Polymer Composition

Fluid distribution material for absorbent articles
A fluid distribution material for use in an absorbent article includes a formed film layer having a user-facing side and a garment-facing side opposite the user-facing side. The formed film layer includes a plurality of apertured protuberances arranged in a pattern having 10 to 40 protuberances per linear inch. Each of the protuberances includes a continuous sidewall extending from the user-facing side. The garment-facing side has a plurality of apertures aligned with the plurality of apertured protuberances and land areas in between the apertures. A nonwoven layer is laminated to the garment-facing side of the formed film layer. The nonwoven layer includes a plurality of continuous fibers extending across the land areas and the plurality of apertures of the formed film layer and attached to the land areas at bond sites. The fluid distribution material has a compressibility of less than 10% between pressures of 0.21 psi and 0.60 psi.
Bendable glass stack assemblies, articles and methods of making the same
A glass element having a thickness from 25 μm to 125 μm, a first primary surface, a second primary surface, and a compressive stress region extending from the first primary surface to a first depth, the region defined by a compressive stress GI of at least about 100 MPa at the first primary surface. Further, the glass element has a stress profile such that it does not fail when it is subject to 200,000 cycles of bending to a target bend radius of from 1 mm to 20 mm, by the parallel plate method. Still further, the glass element has a puncture resistance of greater than about 1.5 kgf when the first primary surface of the glass element is loaded with a tungsten carbide ball having a diameter of 1.5 mm.
BENDABLE GLASS STACK ASSEMBLIES, ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A glass element having a thickness from 25 μm to 125 μm, a first primary surface, a second primary surface, and a compressive stress region extending from the first primary surface to a first depth, the region defined by a compressive stress GI of at least about 100 MPa at the first primary surface. Further, the glass element has a stress profile such that it does not fail when it is subject to 200,000 cycles of bending to a target bend radius of from 1 mm to 20 mm, by the parallel plate method. Still further, the glass element has a puncture resistance of greater than about 1.5 kgf when the first primary surface of the glass element is loaded with a tungsten carbide ball having a diameter of 1.5 mm.
Paint replacement film, composites therefrom, and related methods
Paint replacement films of the invention comprise at least one adhesive layer; at least one pigmented layer; and at least one polymer layer that is essentially free of low surface energy materials. In addition, paint replacement composite articles and related methods of the invention comprise a paint replacement film and a topcoat on a surface of the paint replacement film opposite the adhesive layer. Paint replacement films and composite articles of the invention are useful when applied to a variety of articles (e.g., a motorized vehicle such as an aircraft).
