Photochemical cross-linkable polymers, methods of making photochemical cross-linkable polymers, methods of using photochemical cross-linkable polymers, and methods of making articles containing photochemical cross-linkable polymers
Structures having a polymer composition covalently bonded to the surface of the structure, methods of attaching the polymer to the surface of the structure, methods of decreasing the amount of microorganisms formed on a structure, and the like, are disclosed.
Reversible color-changing sanitizer-indicating nonwoven wipe
A nonwoven wipe having a reversible sanitizer indicator for multiple uses and recharges is provided. The nonwoven wipe includes a cloth-like nonwoven fabric coated with a reversible color-changing ink formulation. During use, the nonwoven wipe is impregnated with a quaternary ammonium compound-based sanitizer. When the level of free quaternary ammonium compound falls below a threshold level, the color-changing ink formulation changes from a first color to a second color, indicating the need to recharge the wipe. When the nonwoven wipe is recharged with sanitizer solution, the color-changing ink formulation changes back to the first color.
Low temperature, nanostructured ceramic coatings
A substrate subject to degradation at temperatures above 100 C. is coated with a nanostructured ceramic coating having a thickness in excess of 100 nm, formed on a surface of the substrate, wherein a process temperature for deposition of the nanostructured coating does not exceed 90 C. The coating may be photocatalytic, photovoltaic, or piezoelectric. The coating, when moistened and exposed to ultraviolet light or sunlight, advantageously generates free radicals, which may be biocidal, deodorizing, or assist in degradation of surface deposits on the substrate after use. The substrate may be biological or organic, and may have a metallic or conductive intermediate layer.
PHOTOCHEMICAL CROSS-LINKABLE POLYMERS, METHODS OF MAKING PHOTOCHEMICAL CROSS-LINKABLE POLYMERS, METHODS OF USING PHOTOCHEMICAL CROSS-LINKABLE POLYMERS, AND METHODS OF MAKING ARTICLES CONTAINING PHOTOCHEMICAL CROSS-LINKABLE POLYMERS
Embodiments of the present disclosure, in one aspect, relate to structures having a polymer composition covalently bonded to the surface of the structure, methods of attaching the polymer to the surface of the structure, methods of decreasing the amount of microorganisms formed on a structure, materials, methods of attaching materials, and the like.
WEARABLE INSECT REPELLING PATCH
An insect repellent patch is disclosed of a size and weight compatible for wearing on the clothing or skin of a user. The patch has a gross area not in excess of 232 cm.sup.2 and bearing one or more insect repellents having a vapor pressure at 25 C. of not less than about 110.sup.6 mm Hg. The total amount of insect repellent is in an amount effective to provide practical mosquito personal area repellency. Kits of such patches, with instructions for use, and methods of providing practical personal area insect repellency are also disclosed.
