Protein concentrates from oil seeds and methods of producing the same
A method of preparing a protein concentrate and protein concentrate compositions are described. The method relates to combining an aqueous process stream from a grain milling process with an oil seed material to form a slurry, steeping the slurry, and isolating a protein concentrate from the slurry. In one embodiment, the aqueous process stream comprises a soluble protein. In some embodiments, the method includes additional steps such as enzymatic treatment, washing of the isolated protein concentrate, and drying the protein concentrate.
MICROBIAL-BASED PROCESS FOR HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE
The present invention describes a bio-based process to produce high quality protein concentrate (HQPC) by converting plant derived celluloses into bioavailable protein via aerobic incubation, including the use of such HQPC so produced as a nutrient, including use as a fish meal replacement in aquaculture diets.
Polypeptide for hydrolytic cleavage of zearalenone and/or zearalenone derivatives, isolated polynucleotide thereof as well as a polypeptide containing an additive, use of same as well as a process
The invention relates to a polypeptide for the hydrolytic cleavage of zearalenone and/or at least one zearalenone derivative, said polypeptide being a hydrolase having an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1-15 or a functional variant thereof, wherein the sequence of the functional variant is at least 40% identical to at least one of the amino acid sequences. The invention also relates to: an additive containing the polypeptide; an isolated polynucleotide that encodes the polypeptide; and a method for the hydrolytic cleavage of zearalenone and/or of at least one zearalenone derivative using the polypeptide.
FEED ADDITIVE FOR IMPROVING INTESTINAL STRUCTURE OF LARIMICHTHYS CROCEA, FEED, AND USE
The present disclosure relates to a feed additive for improving intestinal structure of Larimichthys crocea, a feed and use, and belongs to the field of aquatic animal nutritional feeds. The feed additive includes glyceryl monolaurate. The present disclosure further provides a feed containing the feed additive, and a mass percentage of the glyceryl monolaurate in the feed is 0.04%. The present disclosure further provides use of the feed additive in improving the intestinal structure of the L. crocea, and the use lasts for at least 70 days. The feed provided by the present disclosure can effectively improve intestinal morphological change, reduced intestinal villi, reduced intestinal perimeter ratio, and intestinal barrier damage caused by replacement of fish oil with soybean oil; and damage of intestinal antioxidant activity caused by replacement of fish oil with soybean oil is relieved.
MICROBIAL-BASED PROCESS FOR QUALITY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE FROM HEMPSEED
The present invention describes a bio-based process to produce high quality protein concentrate (HQPC) by converting hempseed derived celluloses into bioavailable protein by incubation of hempseed feedstock with microbes, including the use of such HQPC so produced as a nutrient for animals and humans.
FEED COMPOSITION FOR FARMED FISH USING FERMENTED PORCINE BLOOD
A feed composition for farmed fish using fermented porcine blood having an effect of promoting the growth of farmed fish is proposed.
LIPID COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGH DHA CONTENT
The invention provides lipid compositions comprising phospholipids having a high docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) content, which compositions are preferably extracted from natural sources. The lipid compositions are excellent sources of highly bioavailable DHA and they can be used in oral delivery vehicles, dietary supplements, functional foods, and the like.
Processes for recovering products from a slurry
Improved processes and systems for recovering products from a corn fermentation mash. In some examples, a process recovers an oil product, a protein meal product, and a fiber product from a slurry. A process includes the following steps: introducing the slurry into a device with a flexible screen and mechanical agitation to produce a filtrate and a fibrous solid stream; and introducing the filtrate into a three-phase centrifuge to produce an oil stream, a high protein solids stream, and a water with solubles stream. The flexible screen includes a washing nozzle. The slurry is whole stillage from an ethanol process. The three-phase centrifuge is a three-phase decanter. The filtrate is heated before introducing into the three-phase centrifuge. The filtrate is optionally evaporated before introducing into the three-phase centrifuge.
OILSEED PROTEIN CONCENTRATE AND PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
A process for producing a protein concentrate from oilseed from a plant of a family selected from the group consisting of Brassicaceae, Cannabaceae, Pedaliaceae, Rosaceae, and Fabaceae, preferably Brassicaceae. The method comprises the successive steps of: a) providing a presscake from at least partially dehulled oilseed; b) washing said presscake by mixing it with a first hydrous-alcohol solvent to obtain a washed presscake, and eventually separating said washed presscake from said first hydrous-alcohol solvent, to obtain a washed, an eventually separated, presscake, wherein said first hydrous-alcohol solvent has an alcohol concentration ranging from 60 to 75% w/w; and c) washing said washed, and eventually separated presscake by mixing it with a last hydrous-alcohol solvent to obtain a protein-containing solid and separating said protein-containing solid from said last hydrous-alcohol solvent to obtain a protein concentrate, wherein the alcohol concentration of the final hydrous-alcohol solvent is about the concentration of the azeotrope.
FEED FOR AQUATIC SPECIES WITH A STABLE SOFT AND ELASTIC TEXTURE
Extruded, formulated, complete feed for aquatic species, said formulated, complete feed comprising: at least one non-hydrolysed protein source; at least one fat source; fibers inherent in at least one raw material; optionally at least one carbohydrate containing source; a vitamin additive; a mineral additive; water; a binder comprising at least partly an edible, starch containing, tuberous-originating thickening agent; a hydrolysed plant protein source; and a plasticizer,
and said formulated, complete feed comprises a moisture content from about 12.5% to about 25% (w/w) of the complete feed.
