Drilling system and electromagnetic telemetry tool with an electrical connector assembly and associated methods
A drilling system including a drill string, an EM telemetry assembly, and an electric contact assembly that defines an electrical connection with the drill string. The electric contact assembly permits a portion of the EM tool to slide along a portion of the drill string during drill string assembly.
Retaining clip for electrical connectors
A retaining clip that provides a method for securing electrical connections between male and female electrical connectors is disclosed. Current locking mechanisms are on both the electrical plug and the connector. These locking mechanisms often break when disconnecting the plug. Some embodiments of the present invention eliminate the need for the locking mechanisms. Furthermore, in cases where the mechanisms have been broken, some embodiments provide a method for reusing the electrical plug and/or the connector.
Coil and manufacturing method thereof
A coil has multiple coil sections connected to each other and each coil section includes a body portion and at least one direct or protrusive connecting portion disposed at one end of the body portion. Coil sections form at least one spiral path around the central axis of the coil, and on the projection of the coil along the central axis. The protrusive connecting portions protrude out of the path location of the direct connecting portions. Two connected coil sections form only one overlapped surface at the coupled parts of the direct or protrusive connecting portions. Regarding to the body portions in the same spiral path, a first end of one body portion is indirectly connected and disposed adjacent to a second end of another body portion. The second end has one surface with a virtual extension reaching the first end.
Inductor with conductive trace
Among other things, an inductor comprising a conductive trace and a method for forming the inductor are provided. The inductor comprises a magnetic structure, such as a ferrite core. A molding material, such as a dielectric, is formed around the magnetic structure. A conductive trace, comprising one or more conductive pillars interconnected by one or more upper interconnects and one or more lower interconnects, is formed around the magnetic structure to form the inductor. The conductive trace allows physical limitations associated with winding a wire to be avoided, and thus allows the inductor to be smaller than wire wound inductors. In one example, the inductor is formed within an integrated circuit package comprising an active device, such as an integrated circuit. In this way, the inductor can be connected to the integrated circuit within the integrated circuit package.
MAGNETIC COUPLING AND CANCELLATION ARRANGEMENT
An inductor arrangement comprises a first inductor formed on a substrate, a second inductor formed on the substrate, a first loop formed on the substrate adjacent to the first inductor and a phasing network connected to the first loop which is arranged to receive an input signal representative of a flow of magnetic flux through the second inductor and to apply a first current to the first loop for generating a flow of magnetic flux for reducing magnetic coupling between the second inductor and the first inductor. A second loop can be formed on the substrate adjacent to the second inductor which is arranged to generate a second current in response to a flow of magnetic flux through the second loop, with the second current being the signal representative of a flow of magnetic flux through the second inductor.
Inductor with ferromagnetic cores
An inductor device includes a substrate, and a plurality of first trenches including a first metal on the substrate to form first metal layers. The first metal layers are arranged substantially parallel to the substrate. A plurality of second trenches including a second metal is over the first metal layers and includes first portions and second portions. The first portions are substantially parallel to and interdigitate the first metal layers. The second portions are substantially perpendicular to the first portions, extend from ends of the first portions, and are oriented in opposite directions such that the second portions extend over ends of adjacent first metal layers. A plurality of vias connects the first metal layers to the second metal layers. A plurality of magnetic trenches is over the first metal layers, under the second metal layers, and substantially parallel to the second portions of the plurality of second trenches.
POWER TRANSFORMERS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING TRANSFORMERS AND WINDINGS
A power transformer includes at least two first windings, at least two second windings interleaved with the at least two first windings, and a magnetic core. The at least two first windings and the at least two second windings are positioned adjacent the magnetic core. Each first winding includes a wire and a plurality of turns. One or more windings of the at least two first windings include a bonding material and at least two adjacent turns of said plurality of turns adhered to each other via the bonding material. Other example power transformers, methods of manufacturing power transformers, and methods of manufacturing windings are also disclosed.
BREATHING ASSISTANCE DEVICE WITH LINEAR ACTUATED GAS REGULATING VALVE
A breathing assistance device includes a gas regulating valve. The gas regulating valve is operated by a linear actuator. The linear actuator may include a movable member that moves an obstruction member between an open position and a closed position. The linear actuator is isolated from a gas flow path through the valve.
Integrated control circuitry and coil assembly for irrigation control
An irrigation control device comprises a coil adapted to develop an electromagnetic flux sufficient to cause actuation of irrigation equipment. Control circuitry is electrically coupled to the coil to receive control signals from an irrigation control unit and to control the flux at the coil. A housing covers at least a portion of both the coil and the control circuitry, the housing including a threaded end configured to thread the irrigation control device to a valve assembly to be actuated by the electromagnetic flux of the coil.
Multi-layer, multi-turn inductor structure for wireless transfer of power
A structure for wireless communication having a plurality of conductor layers, an insulator layer separating each of the conductor layers, and at least one connector connecting two of the conductor layers wherein an electrical resistance is reduced when an electrical signal is induced in the resonator at a predetermined frequency. The structure is capable of transmitting or receiving electrical energy and/or data at various near and far field magnetic coupling frequencies.
