Molding system
A molding system for assembling a part by moving a workpiece gripped by a hand of a robot toward a mold of an injection molding machine, while rotating a molded article supported on the mold and the workpiece relative to each other, whereby the molded article and the workpiece are screw-engaged. The molding system includes a rotation detector for detecting a rotational amount between the molded article and the workpiece, an assembled state judging unit for judging if the assembled part is in a predetermined state, and a control unit for relatively rotating and displacing the molded article and the workpiece until the rotational amount exceeds a predetermined rotational amount and the assembled state becomes the predetermined state.
Apparatus and method for aligning optical axes of lenses and assembling camera module
Provided are an apparatus and method of aligning optical axes of lenses and assembling a camera module that are capable of adjusting the optical axes of the lenses. The apparatus for aligning the optical axes of the lenses and assembling the camera module includes a support block to support a substrate at which an image sensor is installed, a displacement sensor to measure a tilted state of the image sensor, a fastener to fasten or loosen fastening components to couple a lens holder to the substrate, and a controller to control a fastening level of the lens holder by the fastener to correct a tilted state according to a measurement result of the displacement sensor. The optical axis of the lens can be rapidly and precisely adjusted and assembled by use of the above described apparatus and method.
Substrate Carrier Deterioration Detection and Repair
A method includes receiving a carrier with a plurality of wafers inside; supplying a purge gas to an inlet of the carrier; extracting an exhaust gas from an outlet of the carrier; and generating a health indicator of the carrier while performing the supplying of the purge gas and the extracting of the exhaust gas.
Assembly system for monitoring proper fastening of an article of assembly at more than one location
A more reliable and fool-proof method and apparatus for assembling an article of assembly (e.g. with predetermined screw torque requirements) in which the article of assembly has multiple fastening locations. The method comprises holding the article of assembly fixed while providing at least two different types of targets fixed relative to the article of assembly that correspond to the individual fastening locations. Fasteners are fastened into the article of assembly at the fastening locations. When fastening is occurring at one of the fastening locations, one of the targets is being sensed. Based on the target sensed, a target output is generated that differentiates between different types of targets thereby indicating fastening location of the fastening tool. The electronic target output is used for electronic control such as for stopping a conveyor to keep the article of assembly at an assembly station until the fastening operations have been completed.

Method of minimizing stacking element distortions in optical assemblies
A compound optical assembly is constructed from a plurality of stacking elements for spacing, aligning, and retaining optical elements within the assembly. Stacking faces of the stacking elements are measured and low-order surface errors are extracted, represented by mathematical approximations having a primary angular frequency. The stacking elements including the optic holders are relatively oriented to promote complementarity between the low-order surface errors of mating stacking faces.
Predictive shimming of joints
A method and a system are provided for predicting and creating a shim for use in a joint where two parts, such as a skin and a substructure, are assembled together. Digital models for the skin and the substructure may be used as nominal maps of the outlines and profiles of the parts. The skin may be inspected, e.g., by nondestructive means, such as ultrasound, to determine as-built thickness profile for comparison to the skin's digital model of the thickness profile. Mating areas of the skin and substructure may be determined from their digital models of their outlines. Deviations in the mating areas of the as-built thickness of the skin from the digital model of the skin may be used to generate a digital model of a shim. The shim may be constructed from its digital model by additive manufacturing techniques that may involving machining or 3D printing.

Software and methods for automated pallet inspection and repair
An automated pallet inspection and repair apparatus comprises an inspection station and a repair station. The inspection station comprises a laser that illuminates a pallet, a camera that collects the reflected light and a computer system. The computer system analyzes the output of the camera and acquires the pallet's geometry and topography. The design of the pallet is determined by the computer software. A decision to repair the pallet is made by comparing acquired pallet data against the design criteria. If the pallet needs repair, a recipe of repair steps is constructed by inspecting each of the pallet's elements. The recipe is transmitted to the automated repair station.
CARRIER FRAME AND CIRCUIT BOARD FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes an electronic circuit board containing a processing element and a vision sensor. A carrier frame is used to support the electronic circuit board. An optical element is positioned over the sensor and supported by the carrier frame. The electronic circuit board is bent to reduce the length, thickness and/or width of the electronic device, without increasing the others of the length, thickness and/or width of the electronic device.
